Assignment Instructions
For this assignment, you will follow the format as presented in your Lessons and summarized as follows:
Title Page of the Paper. The title of your paper should be brief but should adequately inform the reader of your general topic and the specific focus of your research. Keywords relating to parameters, population, and other specifics are useful. The Title Page must include the elements required in the 2012 End of Program Manual.
I. Introduction. (8 pages) This section provides an overview of the topic that you are writing about, a concise synopsis of the issues, and why the topic presents a “puzzle” that prompts your research question(s), which you will include. This section will typically be 8 pages. This section can be preceded by an epigraph that creates interest in the topic. Ensure that you follow proper format for epigraphs!! For this section you can draw from your Research Question and Purpose Statement and Thesis Proposal assignments.
II. Review of the Literature (18 PAGES ) All research projects include a literature review to set out for the reader what knowledge exists on the subject under study and helps the researcher develop the research strategy to use in the study. A good literature review is a thoughtful study of what has been written, a summary of the arguments that exist (whether you agree with them or not), arranged thematically. At the end of the summary, you should have circled back to your research question that remains to be answered. It is written in narrative format and can be from 18 pages depending on the scope and length of the paper.
Continue Review of the Literature: All research projects include a literature review to set out for the reader what knowledge exists on the subject under study and helps the researcher develop the research strategy to use in the study. A good literature review is a thoughtful study of what has been written, a summary of the arguments that exist (whether you agree with them or not), arranged thematically. At the end of the summary, there should still be gaps in the literature that you intend to fill with your research. It is written in narrative format
III. Methodology and Research Strategy ( 8 PAGES) This section provides the reader with a description of how you are planning to conduct research. It explains what research approach you have chosen, and why. It describes any special considerations and defines any limitations and terms specific to this project, if necessary. This section will range from 8 pages Please draw on your research proposal as you should have already developed a preliminary strategy for the Proposal that you submitted at the end of Week 4.

IV. Findings and Analysis: (15 pages) This section
provides the results of your research and the analytical
arguments that will make as a result of your findings. In a
quantitative project, this section would provide the results of
the data collection and an analysis of what it illustrates in
empirical terms. In a qualitative project, you will do the same
even if there is no quantitative component. For an empirical
qualitative project, you will provide your analysis of the
variables you identified and explain what your research findings
are. How did your independent variables affect the outcome
(your dependent variable)? Did you prove or disprove your
hypothesis? What new information have you discovered, if
any? This section will range from 15 pages.

results of your research and the analytical arguments that will
make as a result of your findings. In a quantitative project, this
section would provide the results of the data collection and an
analysis of what it illustrates in empirical terms. In a qualitative
paper, it will produce the findings that you have made from an
3. empirical analysis of your variables. This section should also
provide the evidence that proves (or disproves) the hypothesis.
V. Conclusions (7 PAGES) This section will contain the
concluding analytical argumentsbased on what research has
revealed to answer the research question. Like any conclusion,
it should provide a synopsis of the project, the strategy, and the
results and what they add to the body of knowledge. This
section should also offer suggestions for avenues of future
research for other scholars, as all knowledge is evolutionary.
This section can be 7 pages depending on the scope of the
project.
References (or Bibliography): This section will contain all
references, cited in Turabian format and alphabetically
arranged. Entitle this section as either “References” or
“Bibliography” depending on the type of citation you use in the
rest of the paper. Refer to the Turabian Quick Guide for specific
formats. You should have been compiling these and adding to
them as you’ve gone along. They should be error free

4. Thesis Proposal (7 pages)
Assignment Instructions
This assignment requires you to write a proposal that states
your research question and your research strategy for addressing
it. You may refer to 2012 End of Program Manual, p. 7, and
Appendix 1 for information from the source
publication. However, you may use the following outline to
describe your plan. Proposal will be 7 pages in length
Cover Sheet (standard for any academic assignment)
I. Introduction. This section provides background
about the particular research topic, providing context for the
reader and discussing why this topic presents a research
“puzzle”.
II. Statement of the Problem. This section lays out
the specific problem which leads the researcher to pose research
questions and, in particular, one focused question that will be
the cornerstone of the project. In this section, the writer
will also include the points from his purpose statement stating
how he proposes to address the question.
III. Literature Review. (6 representative resources)
This section provides a preliminary analysis of the other authors
that have written on your research topic. It provides a broad
overview of the primary arguments related to the topic and
5. organizes the general views on the main aspects of the topic by
theme, which could be the prevailing arguments or schools of
thought, or commonly held beliefs that your particular topic
may challenge. There should be at least 6 representative
resources to analyze for this abbreviated review.
IV. Theoretical Framework. This section introduces
the theories or models to be used in the study. If you have
developed or located a model that you intend to use in the
study, provide a clear explanation or diagram of it. Then
provide your working hypothesis and the variables you intend to
analyze.
V. Research Design. In this section, you will
describe your research strategy to test the hypothesis and
analyze the variable. If you are using data, describe how you
will operationalize and collect data on your variables, and the
analytic methods that you will use, noting potential biases and
limitations to your research approach. You must also turn in
IRB paperwork if you plan to do human research. If you do not
turn in properly completed IRB paperwork, you cannot do
human research!!!!!!
Reference List. Provide complete citations in proper Turabian
format for the resources you have cited. Remember to hang
indent.
NEW: This is a capstone project total 68 pages.
Note: On topic of International relation and conflict resolution
major, full research capstone this entire assignment. Total 68
pages all this assignment
Proposed Research Question Assignment (1) (5 pages)
Assignment Instructions
1. Start your assignment with an introductory paragraph about
6. your research topic and why it is of interest and a research
“puzzle”. End your paragraph with your research question.
2. Next, provide a purpose statement that conveys your
intentions about what you hope to produce. See the reference in
your Lessons and review that it will usually be prefaced by
some phrase like the following: "This paper examines . . .,"
"The aim of this paper is to . . .," or "The purpose of this essay
is to . . .". Remember that a purpose statement makes a promise
to the reader about the development of the argument but does
not preview the particular conclusions that the writer has drawn.
3. Next, provide citations from at least 4 scholarly or peer-
reviewed journals or books or other sources (government
publications and websites, for example) that you have found
that pertain to your research topic. These could certainly be
items you found in your Library Exercise last week!! Please
consult the Turabian Style Guide for the correct format for your
citation. You may use either Turabian Bibliography format or
Turabian References format. Just be consistent!!
4. Please note that if you plan to due human research you must
fill out the IRB paperwork and turn it in with your proposal
assignment.
