Believers do not be forward
in the presence of Allah
and His Apostle. Have
fear of Allah: He hears all
and knows all.
3. • 2:
Believers, do not raise your
voices above the voice of the
Prophet, nor speak aloud
when speaking to him you do
to one another, lest your
labours should come to
nothing, without your
knowledge.
4. • 3:
Those who speak softly in
the presence of Allah’s
Apostle are the men
whose hearts Allah has
tested for piety. They shall
receive forgiveness and a
rich reward.
5. • 4.
Those who call out to you
whilst you are in your
chambers, most them
lacking understanding.
6. • 5.
If they had waited until
you went out to them, it
would have been better for
them. But Allah is
forgiving and merciful.
7. • 6.
Believers, if an evil-doer
brings you a piece of news
inquire first into its truth,
lest you should wrong
others unwittingly and
repent of what you have
done.
8. • 7.
Know that Allah’s apostle is among
you. If he were to obey you in many
matters, you would surely fall into
you into distress. But Allah has
endeared the Faith to you. And
beautified it in your hearts, making
unbelief, wrongdoing, and
disobedient abhorrent to you. Such
are those who are rightly guided
9. •8.
A grace and favour from
Allah. Allah is wise and
All knowing.
10. • 9.
If two parties of believers take up
arms against each other, make
peace between them. If either
commits aggression against the
other, fight against the aggressors
till they submit to Allah’s judgment.
When they submit, make peace
between them in equity and justice,
Allah loves the equitable.
11. • 10.
The believers are brethren.
Make peace among your
brethren and fear Allah, so
that you may be shown
mercy.
12. • 11.
Believers, let no man mock another
man, who may perhaps who may
perhaps be better then herself. Do
not defame one another, nor call
one another by nicknames. It is
an evil things to be called by bad
names after embracing the true
faith. Those that do not repent
are wrongdoers.
13. • 12.
Believers, avoid most of suspicion,
for in some cases Suspicion is a
crime. Donot spy (on one
another), nor backbite one
another. Would any of you like to
eat the flesh of his dead brother?
Surely you would loathe it. Have
fear of Allah. He is Forgiving and
Merciful.
14. • 13.
Men, we have created you from a
male and a female, and made
you into nations and tribes that
you might get to know one
another. The noblest of you in
Allah’ sight is the most
righteous of you. Allah is wise
and All-knowing.

The Arabs of the desert declare:
‘ We believe.’ Say: ‘You do not.’
Rather say: We profess Islam,
for faith has not yet found its
way into your hearts. If you
obey Allah and His Apostle, he
will not diminish a thing from
(the rewards) of your labours.
Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
16. • 15.
The true believers are
those who have faith in
Allah and His apostle and
never doubt; and who
fight for His cause with
their wealth and persons.
Such are the truthful ones.
17. • 16.
Say “ Would you tell Allah
of your religion, When
Allah knows what the
heavens and the earth
contain? He has
knowledge of all things.”
18. • 17.
They regard it as a favour to you
that they embraced Islam. Say: “
In accepting Islam you have
confered on me no favour. It was
Allah who bestowed a favour on
you in guiding you to the true
faith. Admit this, if you are men
of truth.

Allah knows all that is
hidden in the heavens
and the earth. He is
watching over all your
actions.”
