8. Stream Project Requirements A restoration project requires a sequence of actions, and some of these are seasonal. Which of these can be worked into class programs, and which will have to be contracted out?
12. And finally, the project could do with a snappy label. Chocolate fish for the person who devises the best!

Editor's Notes
Papatoetoe High School Science Dept Meeting, Monday 30 July 2007 Positives: elements for restoration of ecology – Otara stream system and its receiving waters need help Stream and riparian strip fenced off and available for rehabilitation Owners – school and neighbours – keen or at least have not voiced objections Of educational value to school – for AU and US assessment, for the practical exercise of skills from several disciplines. Of educational value to wider public Increasing value being placed on environmental sustainability and biodiversity within cities means money available for projects with such multiple benefits Negatives: Time and commitment necessary Requirements of project need to be in sync with school programmes of learning. This requires time from teachers and project coordinators. The planned Teachers’ Workshop should address this.
