This document announces a webinar hosted by the Applied Microbial Ecology Laboratory at Universidad de La Frontera in Chile on September 17, 2020. The webinar will feature presentations on bacterial communities and organic phosphorus recycling in aquatic ecosystems from researchers in Chile, the US, and China. Talks will cover topics like nitrogen cycling by bacteria in karst estuaries, phosphorus sources and water quality, controlling lake expansion through macrophyte biomass, and phosphorus distribution and bacteria in Chilean river sediments. The webinar aims to foster discussion within the research network exploring the role of bacteria in phosphorus recycling in impacted aquatic environments.
