This document outlines a stream restoration project presented to students. It discusses using lessons on stream ecology as part of a biology, social studies, geography, and math curriculum. Students would conduct baseline surveys of the stream including photopoints, pest and invertebrate tracking, bird observations, and native plant mapping. Further monitoring would include water quality testing, fish surveys, and recording and presenting project information. Next steps proposed are weed and tree removal, groundcover spraying, litter removal, and a planting plan using native species. Community involvement is also suggested.
