• “ Black skin , white mask”
(1952) is a book about the
mind set or psychology of
racism by Frantz Fanon. He
was psychiatrist and post
colonial thinker.
4. WHAT IS POST-COLONIALISM ?
• Post - colonialism or postcolonial studies is the academic
study of the cultural legacy of colonialism or imperialism,
focusing on the human consequences of the control and
exploitation of colonized people and their land.
• Post colonial literature seek to address the ways in which non –
European literatures and cultures have been marginalized s an
effect of colonial rule, and to possible, modes of resistance,
retrieval and reversal of their own pre- colonial pasts.
• It is a literature of resistance, anger, protest and hope. It seek
to understand history so as plan for the future.
