4. When the verb ends with –e
Drop the –e and add -ing
Example:

5. When the verb ends with
consonant-vowel-consonant
Double final consonant and add -ing
Example:
Tan - Tanning

6. When the verb ends with
ie
Drop –ie and put –y and then add -ing
Example:
Lie - Lying

7. All other verbs.
Just add –ing at the end.
Example:
Call - Calling

8. What about verbs ending with –y
Just add –ing at the end.
Example:
Fly - Flying

9. Write the –ing form of the verbs in the correct column:
