Even the landscape of Mobile World Congress will look different in 2013. While the Mobile World Capital
Barcelona remains the host, they’re moving to a state-of-the-art new facility, Fira Gran.

The 2012 Mobile World Congress was the largest and most exciting event to date, yet they’re planning an
even better event in 2013.
4. New Venue
Introducing New, Larger Venue for MWC 2013 and Beyond
Fira Gran Via, the exciting, new home of Mobile World Congress. Located just down the road from
old location, Fira Gran Via is a large state-of-the-art event space which will allow the show to grow
and expand in the years to come.
Beginning in 2013, Mobile World Congress will take place at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain.
The new location is located a mere 4 km away from previous location.
5. Conference Overview
Mobile is more pervasive than ever before and soon nearly everything around
us, people and things, will be connected. Mobile has forever changed the way we
communicate, the way we conduct business, the way we manage our lives, and the way

increasing as per the date of the event came closer. As
per the daily trend the volume of the mentions for the
event kept on rising on various social platforms.

Additional learning opportunities at MWC included the Forum Series, a
sponsored programme which brought together industry players to discuss and
debate a range of topics in focused sessions. 2012 Forums included the Augmented
Reality Forum, the LTE Forum, the Mobile Cloud Forum and the Mobile Security
Forum, as well as the GTI LTE TDD/FDD International Summit.
15. GSMA Seminar programme & exibition
The GSMA also hosted the GSMA Seminar programme, educating attendees on industry initiatives
such as Mobile Spam, Mobile Privacy, Spectrum, and Disaster Response.
Exhibition
Nearly 1,500 companies showcased their organisations through exhibition stand and hospitality space across eight halls at Fira
Montjuïc. Visiting the exhibition halls provided glimpses of exciting new phones, tablets, technologies, applications, back-end
solutions, accessories and more.
Between the GSMA Pavilion in Hall 8, the Connected House in The Courtyard and several initiatives pavilions in Hall 2, the
GSMA highlighted several important initiatives benefitting the industry, including Mobile Money, Mobile Health and
Embedded Mobile.
