3. Background
I am really pleased to announce that I am teaming up with Beatrice Garcia 6 times Spanish
XC champion for an instructor driven guided XC workshop based on her home turf, Ager.
This trip aims to combine land base theory lectures with airborne guiding and tuition and is
targeted at individuals wanting to take their XC potential to the next level.
The course will cover all aspects of XC flying from getting up and staying up to leaving the
hill . To get the most out of this trip you should be confident on launch and not require an
instructor in the landing field. Some experience of thermalling would also be of use to get
the best out of the conditions, although we will help and guide pilots from both the ground
and the air to build your best thermalling technique. Flight distance is no problem as there
will be a retrieve van following all XC flights.
Ager is the perfect location for a trip of this nature, as whilst it is only a small town it is a
base that has it all and is famous for paragliding. There is a great combination of full on
thermic XC flights and smooth early morning or late afternoon/evening sessions where the
valley benefits from the magic type of air you can boat around on until sunset.
Our accommodation for this trip comprises of wooden cabins accommodating up to 4
people located in a very pretty campsite next to the landing field. There is also a swimming
pool and bar where we can cool off in the heat of the day and debrief the days flying

The cost of the trip is £550 per person per week

Some Kit to remember: 2M radio, reserve (repacked in the last 12
months), towel for shower / pool, hat (the sun can be quite strong) &
sunscreen
