The Prospective marriage Visa (subclass 300) is for the
applicants who are willing to come to Australia to get married
to their prospective spouse. An applicant needs to be outside
Australia while applying and at the time of issuance of visa
under this category. However, you can have the marriage in
any other country and not necessarily in Australia. This is a
temporary visa for 9 months.

2. The Visa Requirements
You can get this visa if you aim to marry:
A Citizen of Australia
A permanent resident of
Australia or
An eligible New Zealand citizen.
Also, you need to have a:
A valid passport
The other necessary travel documents
needed for this type of visa

3. What can you do with this Visa?
You can enter Australia before your marriage
to your prospective spouse
You can travel in and out of Australia as
frequently as you want
You can work in Australia.
You can Study in Australia, but without any
endowment or support for tertiary study
You can apply for a Partner visa, in Australia,
after your marriage.

4. How to Apply for Prospective
Marriage Visa (subclass 300)
You need to be outside Australia while
applying for this type of visa. You can
apply for this visa both online or via
offline application submitted to the Visa
Office.

5. Get your documents ready
You need to get all your essential
documents ready, which are required to
be attached along with your visa
application. You may refer to the website
of Immigration Australia for the
document checklist.

6. Submit Your Application
A. Apply online: You can either submit the
application online and upload the essential documents, by
creating your online ImmiAccount at
http://www.visasavenue.com/.
B. Submit offline application: You can submit the
completed visa application by post or in person to the
concerned Visa Office.

7. Note: In both above cases below two forms
must be filled either online or by taking a
print of the form PDF (Refer to the
immigration Australia website for PDF
download):
If you are the visa applicant, you must submit:
Form 47SP Application for migration to
Australia by a partner
Your sponsor must also complete:
 Form 40SP Sponsorship for a partner to
migrate to Australia
