This document summarizes the cells involved in the innate and adaptive immune system. The innate immune system contains myeloid cells like neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, mast cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells that provide non-specific first line defense against pathogens. The adaptive immune system contains lymphocytes like T cells and B cells that provide specialized and targeted defense. T cells regulate the immune response and destroy intracellular pathogens. B cells produce antibodies for specific antigens encountered.
2. Cells of immune system
The cells of immune system deals with what are
the cells involves in the immunological activity.
This system is categorized by lymphocytes action
on that cells
It has the two variants
Innate immunity
Adaptive immunity
3. Innate immunity
In this type it deals with the myeloid cells(blood cells)
These are the first line defence against invading organisms
It was non specific.
In type includes the few types of cells that are
1. Neutrophoils.
2. Eosinophils.
3. Basophils.
4. Mast cells.
5. Monocytes
6. Macrophages.
7. Dentric cells.
4. Neutrophils
It contains the most numerous population of
leucocytes(central part of immune system, it help to
fight against pathogen).
It have the multi lobed nuclei.
Its main role is abominated in the inflammation site.
In the tissue , it act as the active phagocytes.
It destroy pathogens by oxygen depended and
independent pathway.
5. Esinophils
It has bilobed nuclei.
It contain the few amount of circulating
leucocytes.
It active in the parasitic infection site.
6. Basophils
It has bilobed nuclei.
It was low number in blood.
It doesn’t involve phagocytic action.
It actively involve in the allergenic reaction.
7. Mast cells
It was similar to the basophils but its found only
in the tissue.
It was stimulated by the cross linkage of
immunoglobin.
8. Monocytes
It survive only a day because after the entry
into the tissue it mature as macrophages.
It involve in the phagocytises and intracellular
killing of microbes.
9. Macrophages
It was motile and survive ahead a year.
It enlarge and increases the production of
intracellular lysozymes.
Activation is done by the T cell derived cytokines.
After activation it secret the lysozymes and other
substance to regulate the immune sysytem.
10. Dendritric cells
It was the specialized phagocytic cells found in
most tissue.
It found in all our body to encounter the
invading pathogens.
12. T-cells
T lymphocytes develop from the thymus.
It regulate the immune response.
There are different type of T cells found involves Varity of function.
TH1 cell- destroy the intracellular pathogen.
TH2cell- interact with B cell to make antibody.
Etc…………
13. B-cells
B lymphocytes develop from the bone marrow.
Its major function is produce antibody for specific
antigen.
It found in the plasma cells to produce the
immunoglobin.
It also found in the memory cells for the secondary
immune response.
