3. 2. “What is a Safety and Health Program and where does it fit in my organization?” If your team wants to reduce accidents, injuries, illnesses and other related cost, everyone must place as much emphasis on safety and health related issues as they place on other management issuers, such as productivity, sales and quality Control “ Safety first” sounds great, however, it needs to become a basic value in your company’s operations. “ Safe Production is our only standard” This will help emphasize that it’s fine to produce hard and fast as long as it can be done safely. Plexi’s Safety & Health Program is a four step process: Assessment : All businesses need to be safety and health-conscious. We can help you assess and update your current plan and review your safety process and existing records. Planning : A written plan, or update of an existing plan, will help you approach on-site safety in general. Let us create a plan that enables you to respond to any safety concern or emergency. Implementation: We can develop training programs and action plans to keep you in State and Local compliance—and avoid costly delays and fines. Review and Evaluation : We can institute an audit process to monitor your progress, update changes for new regulations, train new employees, and instill the standard of safety as a long term, everyday process. 4. Management Leadership and Employee Involvement 3. “How can Safety and Health become a part of how our business runs?” Management demonstrates leadership by providing resources, instilling motivation, identifying priorities and emphasizing accountability in a safe and healthy work environment. Leadership involves creating a system to ensure continuous improvement and maintain a health and safety focus while attending to everyday business concerns. Successful managers understand the value of creating and fostering a strong safety culture within their organization. Safety should become elevated so that it is a value of the organization opposed to something additional that must be done. You can increase worker protection, cut business costs, enhance productivity and significantly improve employee morale.
