In Cooperation with the Indonesian Association of Precast and
Prestressed Companies, this year the two-day conference was
entitled: Precast and Prestressed Industry in Achieving the One
Million Houses Program and Development of 3.6 thousand km
Road Infrastructure. Keynote Speakers included the Director General
of Housing Provision and the Director General of Highways from the
Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Republic of Indonesia.
One of the Indonesian government's flagship infrastructure
policies is a target to build one million new houses per year. in
order to demonstrate the advantages of using precast and
prestressed concrete construction techniques, a residential
house was built within just 24 hours outside the Concrete Show
South East Asia 2015 exhibition hall. The demonstration proved
that such technology can enable a house to be built within a
matter of days, instead of a month when using normal building
methods. It is one way to which Concrete Show South East Asia
is serving an important role in supporting the improvement of
Indonesian construction quality through interaction and
knowledge exchange among both domestic and global players
in the construction industries
The Ministry Public Works and Housing took the opportunity of
Concrete Show South East Asia to unveil its Catalogue for
Concrete Products (Katalog Produk Industri Beton Pracetak dan
Prategang), an initiative aimed at establishing standards for the
industry and accelerating the use of prestressed and precast
concrete from its current level of around 16% to a target of 30%.

SEMINARS PROGRAMME
Concrete Show South East Asia always includes a comprehensive

Indonesian Society of Civil and Structural Engineers (HAKI)

The third edition of Concrete Show South East Asia was
a great success, attracting a record number of exhibitors
and visitors. Some 200 companies from 28 countries
exhibited at the show which was attended by 6,223
visitors. Exhibitors reported a high level of satisfaction
with the show, saying that they met key buyers and
decision makers from both the public and private
sectors.
Indonesia and other countries in the South East Asia
region have huge demand for advanced concrete
products and technologies in order to meet ambitious
infrastructure and develpoment targets. Concrete Show
South East Asia provides the perfect platform for
International companies to showcase and demonstrate
the very latest in products and services for the
manufacturer, application, testing, and maintenance of
concrete.

4. WHY INDONESIA
• Indonesia's construction market is the biggest within ASEAN,
accounting for 60-70 percent of the total market in the
region. The rapid growth of the construction industry has
turned the construction sector into the largest contributor to
Indonesia's national income at about 10 percent.
• The use of precast concrete technology in Indonesia
accounts for only 16% of the total concrete works market
within the country, and the government planned to
accelerate the growth to reach 50%
• The government has launched a one-million homes per
year program to reduce the housing demand backlog
• Concrete currently accounts for 40 percent of construction
materials used in projects nationwide. The government has
allocated Rp 658 trillion (US$48.77 billion) in five years for
infrastructure development, and has estimated that all of its
planned infrastructure and construction projects will cost IDR
5.4 quadrillion.
