It consists of five very short texts which can be signs, messages, postcards, labels, notes, 
e-mails, etc. You have to read them carefully and choose A, B, C, or D as the best

You need to be able to read five descriptions of people and five shorts related texts. 
Part 2 5 Questions (one mark for each correct answer) 
In Part 2 (Questions 1-10) you will find five descriptions of people. There are then eight short texts on 
a particular topic. This may be goods and services of some kind (for example, purchasing books, 
visiting museums, staying in hotels or choosing holidays).You have to match each person to one of the 
texts. 
Example: 
Questions 6–10 
• The people below all want to come to Britain to study English. 
• There are descriptions of eight colleges. 
• Decide which college (letters A–H) would be the most suitable for each person (numbers 6–10). 
• For each of these numbers mark the correct letter.

September. She would prefer to be in a city, but wants a college 
which will organise visits, so she can see something of Britain.

Part 4 consists of a long text and five questions. You have to read the text and choose the correct 
answer A, B, C or D for each of the five questions.

TEXT - Night Work 
Can you imagine what it would be like working at night? You'd start your day when everyone else was 
going to bed, and you'd go to bed when everyone else was getting up. Is that really a natural way to live?

It's a Multiple Choice Cloze. You have to read a short text and fill in the gaps.

In Part 5 you have to read a short text with ten numbered spaces and then choose the correct missing word 
(A, B, C or D) to fill in the gaps.

If it is correct, write T for true or F for false if it is incorrect.

Part 1: Interview. Social and personal conversation 
The examiner interacts with both candidates (A-B) in turns

● Likes and dislikes. 
● Home and family 
● Free time (hobbies and interests) 
● Education and work 
● Travelling

Part 2: Talking about pictures (simulated situation) 
The examiner asks the candidates (A-B) to talk to each other for about a minute

In Part 2 you have to listen while the examiner explains a situation. Then the examiner will give you a picture and you have to 
discuss the situation with your partner. Here is a sample picture about things to take when going on holiday:

Part 3: Interaction between the two candidates 
In Part 3, you have to talk for one minute about a picture. After you finish, your partner 
will talk for another minute about another picture.

Part 4: Discussion related to the topic 3 
In Part 4, you have to talk with your partner about a topic. The topic will be related to 
the photos you saw in Part 3. For example, if the two photos were about “waiting at the 
airport”, then will have to talk together your experience waiting at the airport (when was it? 
What happened? Where were you travelling to? etc.) 
OTHER POSSIBLE TOPICS: 
If your pictures were about games, then you will have to talk together about games 
you play or like, or games you used to play. And if the two photos in Part 3 showed 
old people, Part 4 might be about old people in your country, or an old person you

For example, if the two photos were about “waiting at the airport”, then will have to talk together your experience waiting at the airport (when was it? What happened? Where were you travelling to? etc.) OTHER POSSIBLE TOPICS: If your pictures were about games, then you will have to talk together about games you play or like, or games you used to play.
