2. About press regulation
The press regulate their magazines themselves and
not by the government which shows that they are
self-regulating essentially. This is what is going on
with the print media in the United Kingdom and the
print media does not belong to any particular
association for journalists in requirement, no
statuary Press Council, and no statuary complaints
body.
There is however a Press Complaints Commission
which is established on newspaper bodies
themselves.
3. Article 19
The PCC (Press complaints commission) contains 16
articles which consumes of a wide range of problems
including payment for articles, confidential
sources, discrimination, listening
devices, children, intrusion, harassment, privacy, an
d accuracy.
Subjects to a public interest ‘override’ is due on seven
of these articles. Anyone can make a complaint to the
PCC alleging breach by a newspaper or magazine of
the Code. Complaints are free and do not require
legal representation.
4. Possible regulation issues affecting Kerrang
In the kerrang edition that I use which is issue
number 1298 which was published in February 6th
2010.there are many regulation issues found in the
Kerrang magazine which is to do with suicide,
swearing, blood and disturbance, and illuminati.
Where I found the magazine talking about suicide on
page 6-7 this is what it says ‘suicide season’ showing
that this is not suitable for children. The magazine
has bad language when it says ‘kick a**’
‘autonanomous fucking drones’ ‘fu**** c**t’ ‘f** u’
