2. INTRODUCTION OF WINDOW
8 INTERFACE PROBLEMS
Windows 8 is a personal computer operating system developed by Microsoft as part of the Windows
NT family of operating systems. Development of Windows 8 started before the release of its
predecessor , Windows 7, in 2009. It was announced at CES 2011, and followed by the release of
three pre-release versions from September 2011 to May 2012. The operating system was released to
manufacturing on 1 August 2012, and was released for general availability on 26 October 2012.
Windows 8 introduced major changes to the operating system's platform and user interface to
improve its user experience on tablets, where Windows was now competing with mobile operating
systems, including Android and iOS.
Windows 8 was released to a mixed critical reception. Although reaction towards its performance
improvements, security enhancements, and improved support for touchscreen devices was positive,
the new user interface of the operating system was widely criticized for being potentially confusing
and difficult to learn.
3. Website we use for survey
• Google forms
Purpose
1-We have done this survey to find the %age of people
who are having difficulty in using window 8.
Because in window 8 Microsoft have introduce the metro
style menu which is the totally different for people to use.
And many more new things.
2- And to know how useful the window 8 is.
22. Conclusion
• Windows 8’s Modern apps make very poor use of this
screen real estate. I can’t even have multiple apps on
screen at a time. Windows 8 feels like it’s designed only
for 1366×768 13” touchscreen laptops.
• The Windows Store is a very sad place. The number of
apps has improved, but quality is more important than
quantity – and the quality just isn’t there. My PC doesn’t
need crippled tip calculator apps, it needs powerful
software.
23. Future work
• In a future update, you’ll also be able to run
Metro apps in a window.
• Start menu in the future that will bring it
back, along with windowed Metro feature,
and presumably some other changes as
well.
• You can pin Metro apps to the taskbar.
