Uche Ogbuji, more fully Úchèńnà Ogbújí, is a poet, spoken word performer and DJ. His books include a chapbook, Ndewo, Colorado (Aldrich Press, USA, 2013), a Colorado Book Award and Westword Award Winner (“Best Environmental Poetry”), and Ńchéfù Road (Black Spring Press Group, UK, 2022), which won the Christopher Smart Prize. Work fuses Igbo culture, European classicism, American Mountain West setting, Hip-Hop and afrofuturism. He is a 2022 Boulder County Arts Fellow for Literature and Music, and serves on the board of the Colorado Poets Center. Former stints include editor at Kin Poetry Journal and The Nervous Breakdown. October sees his first ever music release, the single “Choccy’s Theme”. Born in Calabar, Nigeria, he has settled near Boulder, Colorado after much world wandering.
