A special invitation to join leaders from across Tennessee to explore ways that we can work
together to confront the most pressing issues affecting Tennesseans

You are cordially invited to participate in an innovative gathering titled Together Tennessee: Seizing Our
Future on July 13-14, 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee.
We recognize that now is a critical time in Tennessee: each of us face unique challenges, and current
pressing issues have the potential to greatly impact the people and places we care most about.
Simultaneously, we acknowledge that the old ways of doing work are no longer sufficient: we must
explore new ways to work together to create the Tennessee that we want to see.
The purpose of this gathering is to:
Prioritize the most pressing issues affecting Tennesseans
Investigate what gets in the way of existing community change efforts, and to
Honor our past work and identify new ways to work together
Your work, experience and perspective is highly valued and we see your participation and input in this
process as essential. We invite you to join us in this participatory exploration to seize the opportunity of
today and to shape the future of Tennessee together!
Together Tennessee: Seizing Our Future will take place from 3:00 pm on Friday, July 13, 2012 to 4:00 pm
on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the Scarritt-Bennett Center in Nashville, TN. The two days will include a
variety of activities, including an informal dinner and networking session, a cultural performance, and an
abundance of participatory exercises that will start us working together in new ways. This gathering is
funded by grants from the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation, the Southern Partners Fund and
__________. There will be no charge for the conference or meals. Lodging will be provided for anyone
living more than 50 miles from Nashville and transportation costs will be reimbursed.
