Mrs. Nitz was the narrator's favorite third grade teacher who, despite being rumored to be one of the hardest, made learning fun through meaningful work and homework while still maintaining high expectations for her students, leading the narrator to still visit her years later at their elementary school.

1. My Favorite Teacher When I was in Third Grade, I was assigned to have Mrs. Nitz. I was really nervous because she was rumored to be one of the hardest third grade teachers at our school. But, once the year started I realized how wonderful she really was. She expected quality work and we had more homework than all of the other classes. And yet, she always managed to make everything so much fun. The year went by too fast and even now I go back to my elementary school to see her.
