EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK
(14 NIGHTS/15 DAYS)
Namaste and welcome to Nepal!
Nepal is a small landlocked country with a diversity of natural and cultural wealth you will find
in few places on earth. The land rises abruptly from the sweltering Terai plains in the south at
60 meters above sea level to the freezing heights of the Himalayan in the north well above 8000
meters culminating in the highest point on earth, Mt. Everest at 8848 meters - with lush sub-
tropical forests, green hills and valleys in between - within a distance of a mere 200 km.
Culture is embedded in the high peaks of Nepal, tradition flows with its rivers, art traverses
through its valleys and religion lies in the heart of its people. Nepal, in short, is a country
where art, culture and religion are a part of life of the inhabitants.
It is a dream come true to stand under the highest monument of nature. Everest Base Camp trek,
goes through the native Sherpa homeland, through numbers of stunning attractions, passing deep
into Buddhist Sherpa country, and some of the world's most sublime peaks. This trek starts in
Nepali-speaking Hindu lowlands and ends in the Tibetan-Buddhist highlands where you will glimpse
hardworking and devoted Sherpas.
Everest Base camp trek starts from Lukla which is the start point of this trek. The trail now climbs
to Namche Bazaar which is modern say Sherpa capital as you further ascends the trek cuts across
the valleys and reaches the staggering height of 5545 meters at Kala Pattar, a small peak offering a
breathtaking view of Everest.

It is a place where the city’s Kings were crowned.
Having been built and rebuilt over the
generations, it is now the valley’s number one
tourist attractions. Most of the temples you see
here are a mere three or four centuries old. The
entire square was designated as a World Heritage
Monument in 1979. The Durbar Square is
teeming with shrines and statues. Walk around
Kumari Chowk which is a home of “living
goddesses”, she comes to the balcony at the
scheduled time to welcome the guests.
6 | P a g e
Later, continue on to Swoyambhunath Stupa
On the top of the hill west of Kathmandu value is
one of the popular and instantly recognizable
symbols of Nepal. It is also referred to as “Monkey
Temple” by many tourists because of the large
tribes of monkeys that guards the hill. Legends
say after the Bodhisattva Manjushri drained the
water from the lake revealing the Kathmandu
valley, the lotus one the island of the lake was
transformed into the hillock, and the blazing light
from the lotus became the statue.
Afternoon, sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur Durbar Square
Bhaktapur also known as ‘Bhadgaon’ is the third largest town in the valley. The stone
embedded street links a string of temples, monastery, courtyards and monumental squares.
You will quickly notice how vibrant the town’s cultural life is with strong communities of
potters, woodcarvers and weavers.
Evening, transfer to an authentic Nepali restaurant for dinner with cultural shows.
This is one of the wonderful experiences to taste
typical Nepali food which we call “Dal Baht” with
lentils. You will be surprised with the variety of
Nepalese dishes that will keep on coming. The
server with a gentle smile in their face will name
you every item in Nepali as well as in English
language before serving you.
Along with the food you will be kept entertained
with typical Nepali folk shows. You will get a
chance to see the dance performance of different
ethnic groups of Nepal in theirs unique cultural uniform.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TREKKING IN NEPAL:-
1. YOUR TEAM
We organize private trek only, hence you will be accompanied by an English speaking
Sherpa guide. However, please note these Sherpa guides are born and bought up in the
remote mountain region of Nepal. Most of them are not even formally educated; hence they
will be able to communicate in basic English only, however you will greatly appreciate their
sense of humor.
You will then have porters as per the requirement. You are required to carry a rucksack
with personal belongings such as a camera, your passport and the things that you require.
The rest of the things will be carried by the porters. The porters will walk at a fast pace and
you will meet them at trek endpoints, each day, be sure that you have all the required
items in your rucksack.
The Sherpa guide will be with you all along. Our Sherpa guides are very experienced, hence
request you to follow all the instructions given by him for a safer trek.
2. TIPS
The Sherpa guide and porter, who will be along with you, do expect few tips, though it will
never be demanded. These people are from the very poor background; hence tips are also
their source of income.
It is totally up to you to reward Sherpa guide/Porters after the service is over, the amount
may depend on how satisfied you are from the overall service provided by them.
3. EMERGENCY
In case of emergencies, our Sherpa guide will do anything to help you. However, you should
have the travel insurance from your home country that covers medical and emergency
repatriation, including Helicopter evacuation, in the eventuality of serious illness or
accident or if clients are stranded in remote areas due to unexpected bad weather
conditions.
9 | P a g e
4. MEALS
All the meals during the trek will be included in your package. However, please note that in
the mountain region, there will only be less variety of food available. You will be offered a
fixed meal planned by your Sherpa guide.
The breakfast will comprise a cup of tea/coffee, cereal, egg & bread/toast. The lunch will
include the main course (fried rice/dal bhat/noodles/macaroni/potatoes) & tea/coffee only.
The dinner will comprise of soup, one main course, dessert and a cup of tea/coffee.
Any additional consumption over the regular menu will incur extra cost and will have to be
paid by you. Lunch will always be light, consisting of vegetarian items only. Non- veg dinner
will be provided twice a week. We recommend carrying a bottled mineral water for drinking.
5. NATIONAL PARK, PERMITS
All these fees are already included in your tour cost. We will require your scanned copies of
passport in advance (before your arrival to Kathmandu) so that we can start processing the
permit in advance. After you arrive in Kathmandu we will collect your 2 photographs and
by the same evening or the next morning we will hand over your required permits.
However, if you are trekking in the restricted areas such as upper Mustang, Dolpa, the trek
permits for these regions will be advised separately and will not be included in your trek
cost. The amount should be paid after you arrive in Nepal. However, there is the video
charge of USD 100 per video camera in all national parks which must be paid directly.
6. ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation during treks will be very basic. We request clients not to have high
expectation. As you move to the higher altitude, you may even have to share the
dormitories and toilets. The accommodation in these regions cannot be booked in advance;
hence our guide will try their level best to accommodate you in the best available lodge in
the area.
7. EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
No special equipment will be required for trekking in Nepal. You will be trekking through
well-established trails. However, we recommend you to bring good down jacket to keep you
warm, hiking boot with perfect ankle support, fleece jacket and quality sleeping bags, water
bottle. Sleeping bags can also be hired from Kathmandu though will not be very clean.
10 | P a g e
8. EXPERIENCE
You will not require any experience for the trekking. However, you should be physically fit
to walk in an uneven terrain for at least 5-6 hours a day.
9. PHYSICAL FITNESS
Trekking in the mountain region of Nepal will involve walking over uneven terrain. This can
prove physically tiring, especially as the altitude increases. The best thing to do is start
with basic exercises, walking up and down. If you have a busy time, then, you should train
yourself with exercise machines.
Trekking puts much effort in the quadriceps muscle in front of the thigh hence do start
with walking and jogging at least a month prior to your trek. Take stairs whenever possible
instead of lifts/elevators.
10. TRAVEL INSURANCE
Please note, travel insurance is not included in the tour package. Hence it is worth taking
insurance before traveling, to cover against injury, theft or loss. Before buying a new policy,
please check whether you have been already covered: some all-risks home insurance
policies may cover your possession and medical schemes include cover when abroad.
Tourists should make sure that their insurance policies also cover soft adventure activities
during their stay in Nepal such as rafting, trekking etc.; If you are planning some
adventurous activities like bungee jumping, rafting and trekking the insurance policy must
also include “dangerous activities”.
Choose the policy that covers medical and emergency repatriation, including Helicopter
evacuation and in the eventuality of serious illness, accident or if clients are stranded in
remote areas due to unexpected bad weather conditions.
We hope you will find all the above to be in order. Should you require any further
assistance/information, please feel free to mail us.
Best regards,
Bibek Adhikari | Managing Director

  • 1. 1 | P a g e EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK (14 NIGHTS/15 DAYS) Namaste and welcome to Nepal! Nepal is a small landlocked country with a diversity of natural and cultural wealth you will find in few places on earth. The land rises abruptly from the sweltering Terai plains in the south at 60 meters above sea level to the freezing heights of the Himalayan in the north well above 8000 meters culminating in the highest point on earth, Mt. Everest at 8848 meters - with lush sub- tropical forests, green hills and valleys in between - within a distance of a mere 200 km. Culture is embedded in the high peaks of Nepal, tradition flows with its rivers, art traverses through its valleys and religion lies in the heart of its people. Nepal, in short, is a country where art, culture and religion are a part of life of the inhabitants. It is a dream come true to stand under the highest monument of nature. Everest Base Camp trek, goes through the native Sherpa homeland, through numbers of stunning attractions, passing deep into Buddhist Sherpa country, and some of the world's most sublime peaks. • 8. 8 | P a g e IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TREKKING IN NEPAL:- 1. YOUR TEAM We organize private trek only, hence you will be accompanied by an English speaking Sherpa guide. However, please note these Sherpa guides are born and bought up in the remote mountain region of Nepal. Most of them are not even formally educated; hence they will be able to communicate in basic English only, however you will greatly appreciate their sense of humor. You will then have porters as per the requirement. You are required to carry a rucksack with personal belongings such as a camera, your passport and the things that you require. The rest of the things will be carried by the porters. The porters will walk at a fast pace and you will meet them at trek endpoints, each day, be sure that you have all the required items in your rucksack. The Sherpa guide will be with you all along. Our Sherpa guides are very experienced, hence request you to follow all the instructions given by him for a safer trek. 2. TIPS The Sherpa guide and porter, who will be along with you, do expect few tips, though it will never be demanded. These people are from the very poor background; hence tips are also their source of income. It is totally up to you to reward Sherpa guide/Porters after the service is over, the amount may depend on how satisfied you are from the overall service provided by them. 3. EMERGENCY In case of emergencies, our Sherpa guide will do anything to help you. However, you should have the travel insurance from your home country that covers medical and emergency repatriation, including Helicopter evacuation, in the eventuality of serious illness or accident or if clients are stranded in remote areas due to unexpected bad weather conditions.
  • 9. 9 | P a g e 4. MEALS All the meals during the trek will be included in your package. However, please note that in the mountain region, there will only be less variety of food available. You will be offered a fixed meal planned by your Sherpa guide. The breakfast will comprise a cup of tea/coffee, cereal, egg & bread/toast. The lunch will include the main course (fried rice/dal bhat/noodles/macaroni/potatoes) & tea/coffee only. The dinner will comprise of soup, one main course, dessert and a cup of tea/coffee. Any additional consumption over the regular menu will incur extra cost and will have to be paid by you. Lunch will always be light, consisting of vegetarian items only. Non- veg dinner will be provided twice a week. We recommend carrying a bottled mineral water for drinking. 5. NATIONAL PARK, PERMITS All these fees are already included in your tour cost. We will require your scanned copies of passport in advance (before your arrival to Kathmandu) so that we can start processing the permit in advance. After you arrive in Kathmandu we will collect your 2 photographs and by the same evening or the next morning we will hand over your required permits. However, if you are trekking in the restricted areas such as upper Mustang, Dolpa, the trek permits for these regions will be advised separately and will not be included in your trek cost. The amount should be paid after you arrive in Nepal. However, there is the video charge of USD 100 per video camera in all national parks which must be paid directly. 6. ACCOMMODATION Accommodation during treks will be very basic. We request clients not to have high expectation. As you move to the higher altitude, you may even have to share the dormitories and toilets. The accommodation in these regions cannot be booked in advance; hence our guide will try their level best to accommodate you in the best available lodge in the area. 7. EQUIPMENT REQUIRED No special equipment will be required for trekking in Nepal. You will be trekking through well-established trails. However, we recommend you to bring good down jacket to keep you warm, hiking boot with perfect ankle support, fleece jacket and quality sleeping bags, water bottle. Sleeping bags can also be hired from Kathmandu though will not be very clean.
  • 10. 10 | P a g e 8. EXPERIENCE You will not require any experience for the trekking. However, you should be physically fit to walk in an uneven terrain for at least 5-6 hours a day. 9. PHYSICAL FITNESS Trekking in the mountain region of Nepal will involve walking over uneven terrain. This can prove physically tiring, especially as the altitude increases. The best thing to do is start with basic exercises, walking up and down. If you have a busy time, then, you should train yourself with exercise machines. Trekking puts much effort in the quadriceps muscle in front of the thigh hence do start with walking and jogging at least a month prior to your trek. Take stairs whenever possible instead of lifts/elevators. 10. TRAVEL INSURANCE Please note, travel insurance is not included in the tour package. Hence it is worth taking insurance before traveling, to cover against injury, theft or loss. Before buying a new policy, please check whether you have been already covered: some all-risks home insurance policies may cover your possession and medical schemes include cover when abroad. Tourists should make sure that their insurance policies also cover soft adventure activities during their stay in Nepal such as rafting, trekking etc.; If you are planning some adventurous activities like bungee jumping, rafting and trekking the insurance policy must also include “dangerous activities”. Choose the policy that covers medical and emergency repatriation, including Helicopter evacuation and in the eventuality of serious illness, accident or if clients are stranded in remote areas due to unexpected bad weather conditions. We hope you will find all the above to be in order. Should you require any further assistance/information, please feel free to mail us. Best regards, Bibek Adhikari | Managing Director
