Michele Johnson, currently serves in the United States Army in Stuttgart, Germany as a Senior Human
Resources Sergeant, at the Joint US European Command.
Michele is a graduate of South Bend Riley high school. She has always been very active in extra curricular
sports and leadership organizations such as track, cheerleading, student council and class secretary to name a
few.
Michele attended Indiana University Bloomington and later enlisted in the United States Air Force where she
was stationed at Randolph, AFB in San Antonio, TX as a Personnel Specialist. She served eight years at the
Headquarters Military Personnel Center and was honorably discharged. She relocated to Indianapolis, IN and
worked for Indiana Black Expo, Inc., which is a non-profit who hosts the largest, longest running exposition in
the nation. She started as the receptionist and was promoted several times and served as the Executive
Assistant to the Director of Operations, Executive Assistant to the Youth Programs Director and finally as the
Youth Programs Coordinator. Eventually she moved back to her hometown of South Bend, IN and worked for
Ave Marie Press as the Marketing Assistant and then to River of Life Family Church as the Media Assistant.
Michele joined the US Army in 2008, and was assigned to Fort Lewis, WA where she deployed to Iraq. After
deployment, she served as a Army Recruiter in Mishawaka, IN presenting a lifestyle of change for those who
desired to “Be all they could be”.
Michele has worked with young people for the last 19 years when she began a youth usher ministry at her
church. She keeps up with the heartbeat of youth and brings a right now message to a right now situation. Her
passion is to educate, enlighten and encourage young people to make choices that line up with their intended
purpose. She created “In Our Image” curriculum to help steer youth to their destiny.
She is currently a Senior at Columbia Southern University pursuing a BS degree in Psychology. She is married,
Nathan with two children, Jannae and Jevon.
