Nationals!
2015 WALT DISNEY WORLD - ORLANDO FLORIDA
Quick info on Pueblo Competition
 The absolute earliest we would compete is 1pm
When?
 We will leave February 5th (Thursday) in the morning and return back
to Denver on February 9th (Monday).
Where?
 We will be staying ON PROPERTY.
 Price difference between Caribbean Beach resort and Disney All
Star Sports is about $90-95 total depending on # attending.
 Caribbean Beach/Coronado Springs is slightly more upscale.
 Better practice space
 DAS/PS is less expensive
 More “action”
 On-property cafeteria
Why Choose On-Property?
 Benefits:
 Free transportation to and from airport (for athletes) on Disney Magical
Express and around the WDW Resort property – we can take a bus to
the ESPN arena. – no need to drive/park/etc
 Park Hopper passes included
 Tickets to the Championships included
 Registration for Competition included
 Special UCA Night at Magic Kingdom
 Private Championship Celebration Party at Hollywood Studios
 One meal per day (counter service) voucher (Bring non-perishable
breakfast food on your own and plan to pay for one meal per day)
 All taxes and Gratuities
What, at this point, prohibits us from
going?
 We need a critical mass of athletes to attend, otherwise it becomes
cost prohibitive and/or we can’t compete in our division.
 We are competing Medium Varsity. If we don’t have 16 who can
feasibly compete in Medium Varsity, we will not go.
 ALL athletes who go WILL compete at a minimum in Game Day.
 If you go in good standing, you WILL see the competition floor!
Speaking of cost…
Cost is fixed = perks are flexible.
 Cost = $1250 to attend. (or less) Final Total TBD.
 What this covers:
 All Disney “stuff” as aforementioned
 Chaperone Costs
 Flight – No checked bag fees (Cheers MUST carry on game day uni and comp uni)
 At least one t-shirt
 ANY extra money WILL go to the athletes! (Tshirts, bows, treats, incidentals, etc. If we
can’t spend it, we will carry it over to your balance for next season). Seniors – see me.
 If you want to see the breakdown sheet, please ask. I have it.
 Balance due IN FULL by January 5th to NHSCC
Breakdowns and due dates:
 $267 due on Nov 17 ($417 less your $150 deposit you pay by Nov 6)
 $417 due on Dec 17
 $417 due on Jan 22 (Will be final balance)
 Athletics will float us through final installment.
 Please keep in mind you are also making program payments at this
time.
 We will know whether or not we will attend nationals (based on the
deposits received) by Nov 12.
 Amounts due for Dec/Jan can be reduced through team fundraising.
Fundraising:
 Cheer website
 Black Friday “cheer clinic”?
 Sponsorship T-Shirts or photos
 Sell, sell, sell…
 Broncos games
 Team Breakfast (Pam and Krista???)
 Kiddie clinic funds – already earned $150
 All non-personal funds raised will go to the team “off the top” of the
total cost
Can parents attend?
 You bet!
 Stay on the same property (or different) – it’s totally up to you.
 major discounts staying with the teams.
 You must sign the cancellation policy
 If you have family/friends in FL or want to sleep/fly/etc separate, you can purchase Extra Tickets
through Disney
 We have 1 spot available on the group flight.
 IF you can get on our flight, even if it’s not in the group package, I certainly wouldn’t complain.
 CCSD says cheers have to travel on district-approved itinerary (in other words, your vacay is the
district approved vacay.)
Cancellation Policy
 Basically, we can’t cancel.
 You MUST commit via a $150 deposit by November 6th.
 If you give your $150 deposit, YOU COMMIT TO PAY THE FULL
AMOUNT. INJURY, ELIGIBILITY, COMP ROUTINE, ILLNESS…IT’S YOUR
GAMBLE.
 We cannot cancel below 16 athletes. We won’t bid out below 16
athletes.
What’s on the agenda?
 As soon as we know warm up times, prelim times, etc, we will get a
schedule out.
 OUR PRIMARY OBJECTIVE IS TO COMPETE.
 There will be time to go to the parks, but this is not the reason why
we go.
 Team dinner one night, if possible.
Sample Agenda:
 Based on 2014 finals schedule:
 Thursday:
 Arrive/unpack, etc Team meeting 8:30-9:30pm
 Friday:
 Practice 7am-10am
 Parks 10-3pm
 Practice 3-5pm
 Parks 5-9pm
 Saturday:
 Practice 7am-9am
 Prelims arrive 2 hrs prior
 Parks to follow until close
Sunday
We will all attend finals in our divisions whether we make it or not.
Parks to follow/in between time
Late park hours for NHSCC attendees
Monday
Return home.
When must I commit?
 SOON!
 Hotels book prior to posted deadlines, and our deadline is
December 1st based on the airline group reservation cutoff time
 I want to mail the deposits in by Nov 7th to ensure our spot.
 Deposit: $50 for airfare (we are already floating it)
 Deposit: $100 for NHSCC
 Total Deposit: $150 by Nov 7th
Decide if it’s right for you.
 Hopefully, many family discussions about paying for a nationals trip
have taken place already.
 If you decide the financial commitment is too great, PLEASE let me
know by November 1!
 think it over. It’s a huge commitment, and it’s important that we
have a great experience.
