Review of the ProForm 290 SPX Indoor Cycle Trainer
1. Review of the ProForm 290 SPX Indoor Cycle Trainer
This is one of the most popular home exercise bikes around and it competes comfortably with
Sunny Health & Fitness as well as Schwinn products, both of which are leaders in fitness
equipment. There is nothing especially unique about this bike, however, it is one exercise
machine that has made it’s mark on the market.
Here is a more in-depth look at the 290 SPX to evaluate if the machine is all it’s cracked out to
be.
Product Key Specifications:

ProForm 290 SPX Indoor Cycle Trainer Benefits:
This is a very easy bike to assemble which makes it a real pleasure to put together. There are
no nonsense bits and pieces to this machine because there are only three bits that need
attaching which are the handlebars, the pedals and the feet.
This is a great design that ProForm have come up with because they have realized just how
much their customers hate complicated ways of assembling bikes. The manufacturers have
kept things as simple as possible which means once you get your exercise bike home, you can
1/3
2. start using it in no time at all.
The bike also has a very convenient height adjustable seat which suits the majority of users,
whether they are tall or short. The end result is that you can get the seat into the perfect position
and as such avoid bad posture which can put stress and strain on knee joints as well as other
joints, which end up causing your pain.
You can also adjust the handlebars, so once you have the right seat position, you can make
sure your handlebars are in the right place too. Again, this helps you get the correct posture and
avoids any discomfort as well as injury.
The pedals have toe cages which is great if you are planning on doing more intense workouts. If
you pedal at higher speeds, there is more chance of your feet coming off the pedals, the toe
cages prevent this from happening.
There is a very useful water bottle holder which many other models seemed to have forgotten
about. This means you don’t have to stop to get a drink when you are using the exercise bike,
and this makes it very convenient for the user.
The bike is very stylish, unlike a lot of other home use exercise bikes. The manufacturers have
produced a great looking bike with a black enamel finish that really makes the bike stand out in
the crowd.
ProForm 290 SPX Indoor Cycle Trainer Disadvantages:
One of the downsides to this model exercise bike, is it’s noise factor. If you want to watch TV or
listen to music, you will have to turn the volume up to hear it. The noise the bike makes might
also disturb anyone else in your household.
Unfortunately, a high pitched noise happens at higher resistance levels which can prove to be
very annoying. This could be a real issue for some people.
The seat is not as comfortable as it could be which again could be a real issue if you want to
use your exercise bike a lot. You could end up pretty sore after long workouts too. One solution
is to buy a more comfortable bike seat and replace the original one with that.
If you are under 5’4”, you might find this exercise bike hard to use because the height settings
will not let you adjust the seat to accommodate your size. You should try the bike out in a fitness
shop before buying it for this particular reason.
Is the Exercise Bike Value for Money?
The ProForm 290 SPX Indoor Cycle Trainer is a pretty decent exercise bike with an
affordable price tag. The problem it has are the noise issues, which could really prove to be
2/3
3. annoying. If you don’t mind about the noise it makes, then this could be a good choice of
exercise bikes for you, but if you think it will drive you mad, then it might be worth looking at
another sort of exercise bike.Copyright allfastweightloss.com
