In this day and age, companies need to communicate
across a wide range of languages, cultures and even time
to capture knowledge and achieve peak performance

3. Effective communication is the key element for the
success or failure of an enterprise.
In 1519, Spanish conquistador Hernando Cortez landed in
Mexico on the shores of the Yucatan with the intent on
claiming the Aztec’s
treasures.

Knowing that they
faced incredible odds,
Cortés changed the
quest to “do or die” by ordering his men to “burn the
ships”, providing the ultimate motivation as there was no
way around, no fall-back option.
Cortés ultimately succeeded, although forever quite
infamous…
