2. Aluminum and magnesium phosphide are used as fumigants to control insects and
rodents. They are primarily used for fumigation of stored raw agricultural
commodities, animal feeds, processed food commodities, and nonfood
commodities in sealed containers or structures.
3. Formulations based on magnesium phosphide (Mg3P2),
are the fumigant of choice for quick fumigations

34% inert components, mainly ammonium carbamate amongst others, that

5. Action to address this was taken and the UK regulatory authority (CRD) granted a concession for

Metallic Phosphide Standards (RAMPS). Stock was supplied to fumigators for use without the
aforementioned plant protection restrictions, under specific conditions and this concession is still in
place until;
