Magnesium
phosphide
(Mg3P2)
Project Feasibility
Aluminum and magnesium phosphide are used as fumigants to control insects and
rodents. They are primarily used for fumigation of stored raw agricultural
commodities, animal feeds, processed food commodities, and nonfood
commodities in sealed containers or structures.
Formulations based on magnesium phosphide (Mg3P2),
are the fumigant of choice for quick fumigations
• Pellets contain of 66% inert magnesium phsophide as active substance and
34% inert components, mainly ammonium carbamate amongst others, that
facilitate controlled outgassing of phosphine.Add your second bullet point

• Round Tablets contain of 66% inert magnesium phosphide as active
substance and 34% inert components, mainly ammonium carbamate
amongst others, that facilitate controlled outgassing of phosphine.

Project Feasibility – sample
Action to address this was taken and the UK regulatory authority (CRD) granted a concession for
grain/raw commodity fumigations, following careful negotiations with the Register of Accredited
Metallic Phosphide Standards (RAMPS). Stock was supplied to fumigators for use without the
aforementioned plant protection restrictions, under specific conditions and this concession is still in
place until;
Fumigation - COVID-19
