Action Against Hunger is an international
humanitarian organization with a focus on ending
world hunger. They are able to respond to
emergency situations of war, and natural disaster.
Their program areas include nutrition and health,
water and sanitation, and food security. They serve
millions of people in over 40 countries
3. HISTORY…..
Action Against Hunger (ACF) was founded in 1979
by a group of people. Alfred Kaster served as the
organization’s first chairman.
ACF initially provided assistance to Afghan
refugees in Pakistan. It expanded to address
additional humanitarian concerns in Africa, the
Middle East, Southeast Asia, the Balkans and
elsewhere during the 1980s and 1990s. Action
Against Hunger’s Scientific Committee pioneered
the therapeutic milk formula (F100), now used by all
major humanitarian aid organizations to treat acute
malnutrition.
