4. Why my pad layout and console layout is what
it is…
I chose these certain qualities for my pad and console because I believe the pad looks
comfortable and has all the abilities it needs e.g. touch screen panel and analogue sticks.
Furthermore, I believe the console also has the abilities it needs on the outside as it has
even more qualities on the inside.
Now we will move on to the other technology in my console…
5. Technology inside the console…
RAM of 8GB. I have chose this as it is used in the XBOX ONE and has been analysed to
work very well. £83
CPU of 8 core AMD custom with a frequency of 1.75. I chose this as this style CPU is used
also in the XBOX ONE. £134
Graphics processor will be a Semi Custom AMD Radeon. Also it will be integrated into an
APU. I chose this as it is used in the PS4 and has had good reviews. £200
The video display will be 1080i. I chose this as I believe it will work well with the other
technology in the console £50
For audio I will be using a Dolby digital with WMA pro and HDMI. I chose this as this
audio type has had many good reports £80
The storage media will be 320GB hardrive and you will also get a 2.5 SATA hardrive on a
HDD bracket; in case you run out of memory for the internal hardrive £75
Power supply will be an ordinary lead in which plugs into a plug socket £30
Overall, my console will cost £602, plus an extra £30 if the users
want to also buy their yearly online pass called PWTW. So with that
in mind either £602 - £632

Wii u –
What IGN said
“The Wii U's software speed bumps will likely be ironed out in future OS updates. The
same can't be said for its hardware limitations - of which there are a few of note. Maybe
even the inordinately long loading screens are pain points you may just have to live with.
Right now, the Wii U doesn't have any next-gen competition, but it will soon. In addition.
the Gamepad is light and ergonomic. It's only around 1.1 pounds, lighter than an iPad
(1.4lbs), and it has comfortable ridges and grips. But it also feels a bit cheap. Shaking it
audibly rattles the face buttons
My summary
IGN – has many limitations for the Wii u in which I Was shocked with. I couldn't seem to
find any really good advantages from what IGN have said except that the battery pack can
hold out for a good amount of time; and that the video display of 158ppi works well
with the Wii u games.

17. PS4
What IGN said
“The PS4 is the PS3 reborn, better, and well improved; with powerful yet familiar
processing architecture, a more open approach to software, and an impressive set of day-
one features. The PS4 not only brings the PlayStation platform into a more modern
era, but establishes a strong foundation for long-term evolution. the PS4 is an
exceptionally well-crafted console. It's impressively small and attractive design sets a new
bar for the industry, and its powerful hardware offers not only stunning visuals, but
higher player counts, constantly connected experiences, and larger, more detailed worlds.
- and did I mention how great the DualShock 4 is? It’s pretty amazing”
My summary
From the IGN review, the PS4 is outstanding and is seen as such as special and well
crafted console. It seems the dual shock pad is amazing and that the technology in the
PS4 really has impressed IGN and therefor they seem to rant about many of its
advantages. - this leads me to my rating
Rate – 9/10
18. XBOX ONE
What IGN said
“The XBOX ONE is mind blowing, considering it cost a little more than its rival the PS4, it
seems to be worth it. In addition, the XBOX ONE is an exciting entry into the new
generation of home consoles that improves on the Xbox 360 in many ways. It offers a
broader set of home entertainment features than its closest rival, the PlayStation 4. But
it’s also more expensive, and because it can’t parse natural language, it’ll force you to
learn its specific vocabulary of commands in order to take advantage of its interface.”
My summary
From IGN’s reports the XBOX ONE is doing particularly well as it is told that it offers a
broader set of home entertainment. However, IGN seem to talk about its limitations in
the interface area as vocabulary can be a problem for people when they attempt to talk
to the interface. Overall, the XBOX ONE seems to have a fairly appropriate and good
report
