This document describes an iPad app called the Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) that was designed to improve medication administration in healthcare facilities. The eMAR app allows nurses mobile access to patient medication records and the ability to scan patient wristbands and medication barcodes. It ensures the five rights of medication administration and provides real-time access to patient vitals, lab results, and medication interactions to help nurses safely give the correct drugs.
