7. Mine and Aziza’s magazine will be called Amiga, it will have a similar look to other magazines to
help appeal to our Target Audience which is teenage girls from around 14 to 19.
In our magazine there will be several different topics. Such as Fashion, Make-up, Shopping tips,
Self help pages, super scrimping tips and agony aunt pages and lots more.
To create our mock up for the magazine front cover we will use Microsoft Publisher, aided by
Photoshop. Then to make the final product, we will use Adobe InDesign.
The colour scheme will be not all girly colours like pinks and reds, but based around the colours
that were most liked in our questionnaires.
Also the magazine name “Amiga” is Spanish and it means a feminine friend.

13. Product and Task Evaluation
• I set out to create a magazine cover for teenage girls between 14 – 19. But in the end I ended up making
not only the magazine cover but the contents page too. I went about making a magazine cover for a
teenage girls magazine called Amiga by doing various research and lots of planning. For research I made
questionnaires which I got people to fill out. The main two questions were “what is your favourite
colour?” and “how old are you?” these were the main questions because I needed to find out what main
colours to put on our magazine cover and the age range to who we make the magazine for. The planning
for the magazine cover was to create mood boards, analyse other magazines and to create a rough
sketch/a flat plan of the cover. I also had to create a quick mock up, but that didn’t follow the mock up
because we could have done better with the real thing then the mock up. The key conventions of a
magazine is that it has a large picture on the cover with a few plugs and sub stories, a barcode and
price, along with the date line and web address by the title of the magazine. My medium of this project is
a print out as it is a magazine cover. I intended on using these in my project by following the key
conventions of a magazine cover and contents page. I targeted my audience by doing research into who is
the best age range or target audience to target. I used the information gathered into to put together a
plan and then finalise everything, the colour scheme and writing styles.
