Opportunities  “Green” trend in society  =Growing market for Volt  Charging stations  2x electric motor capacity for commuters when they can charge at work  Gas Prices  Society fed up with high prices, looking for alternatives
Threats  Public perception  Some thing that electric cars are slow, and people that drive them are “snobby”  New emissions requirements  Could hurt Volt, as gas cars are required to become more efficient in the future  Nissan Leaf  Successful car, launched around same time as Volt.  Currently has a 20,000 waitlist of people wanting to buy the car.  New fuel technology  Might be a more efficient competitor to gasoline in the near future.
