Would be great if this is where the zero line started when I started my journey…

…but this is where the zero line actually started :-(
24. 3. ROLL WITH THE PUNCHES
Life changes, so roll with it…
just know what future need
you’re stealing from!
Not doing this is what causes
budgets to fail… we are only
human!

June July August
The pay check thing. Helps cushion an emergency when this month’s
money has been used. Spend money today that you earned > 30 days ago.
26. FOUR STEP METHOD
1. Give Every Dollar A Job
2. Embrace Your True Expenses
3. Roll With The Punches
4. Age Your Money
34. I try to check what I’ve
budgeted before I
spend something
35. Their mobile apps are
pretty awesome too (I’m
in the beta group, so I
hope so!)
36. When I spend money, I
try to enter it into the
app straightaway.
It uses GPS to know if
you’re revisiting a shop,
what category and
account you used last
time.
37. Fun Money is definitely
important if you’re
budgeting with a
partner – ‘no questions
asked’ spending!
Then it’s all about Rule 2
and realising I need to
worry about Christmas,
even though it’s June.
38. Already saving up for
holidays coming up and
(trying) to save for
future car purchases.
It’s here I often have to
make a difficult decision
if I’ve overspent
elsewhere.
41. My monthly bills. At the
bottom of the list
because I know if I ‘steal’
budget from here, I’ve
got a problem pretty
soon.
42. Every day or so I clear
my bank trnasactions so
I can double check what
my bank thinks I’ve
spent is what I think.
This is where I catch the
transactions I forgot to
enter.
43. Real Example: Impulse purchase of garden
furniture at the weekend, so I had to decide
we couldn’t budget for new cars this month!
44.
45.
46. Because I’ve overspent this month and I’ve decided to
not steal from my future priorities
