Why not you? Why not now? This is the season to start
anew and move your business forward
Welcome to
Team Talk
March 2014
Editor’s note
There are several things that mark the start of spring for me. The plethora of
pancake pictures that appear on my Facebook newsfeed, for example.
The fact that I don’t wake up completely perplexed when my alarm sounds thinking surely it’s too
dark to be anywhere near classified as morning. The cats strolling in at 6am for their breakfast after
a night on the tiles, as opposed to refusing to move from underneath the radiator where they’ve
been camped out since October. The garden starting to look far more colourful than it has in water-logged

months.
However, the ultimate way I know that spring is here is when that first stranger smiles at me in the
street or bobs their head to say hello for no other reason than it’s a little bit sunny. You may find
this statement a bit odd, if you’re from a smaller community where this is the norm, but it’s true!
And it makes you feel amazing. So much so, that you, in turn, carry it on and smile at the next
person and give them a courteous head bob too.
That smile from a total stranger can change your entire day. It’s a wonderfully contagious thing this
happiness malarkey. It’s also hugely powerful. Just think, if smiling at a stranger while passing can
change their day, how does your mood affect your customers, potential customers, team
members or prospects?
It’s the simplest thing to do, but sadly the easiest thing not to do. We live in a fast-paced world
where your mind can be quickly distracted by things you need to do or things you think you should
have done, so it may not be top of your priority list – smiling at the people you pass. But, who
would you want to associate with – the person who gives you a genuine smile or the one who
looks like they’re in a world of their own?
Still not convinced? Ok, let’s look at it from a purely selfish perspective.
You’ve heard the expression ‘grin and bear it’? Well, recent studies have
shown that a grin can help alleviate stress and help your physical
health. It also automatically makes you look younger, which is
never a bad thing! Who would have thought Bobby McFerrin
was such a lyrical genius!
So make the decision to be happy and smile, even if you
don’t feel like it. That one smile could change your mood,
your health, your day and someone else’s day. What
have you got to lose?

Lisa Burke
Network Managing
Director News
from Lisa
At this time of year, so many people are looking
to turn over a new leaf. Whether it’s moving
house, redecorating, thinking of a summer
holiday or leaving a stagnant job, now is the
perfect time to get the opportunity out there.
Bronze Senior Executive, Andy Cooper recently asked on
our Facebook page how people joined. Out of the 80
responses received, warm market came in top with 21;
newspaper advertising was next at 16; flyers brought in
10; shop adverts 6; Internet advertising 5; prospect cards
5; car ads 4; mail shot 3; Facebook 2; and Yellow Pages 1.
It goes to show that people join the business through all
sorts of methods, but before you use any other method of
sponsoring, you need to exhaust your contact list. Contact
everyone you know and ask them. Don’t make that
decision for them! Think of how you’ll feel if you bump into
them at a Kleeneze Showcase and they’ve joined someone
else’s team!
We’re now building up a testimonial library on the DSA,
which will be full of success stories that you can share out
with your prospects. We’ll be working on categorising
them too, so you can find the story that will help you in
targeting your recruitment.
Don’t forget, the international best-selling Go Pro by Eric
Worre is in every Starter Kit 1 now. It’s a simple 7-step
guide on how to master network marketing and is an
invaluable learning tool. You can order extra copies on
code 736376.
Once you get that skill-set sussed, it’s on to the exciting
business of creating your lifestyles without limits! We
have a fantastic event lined up for Saturday 17 May at the
Reebok Stadium in Bolton. Our speakers are ready to offer
you advice on how to take control of your life with key
elements of planning, strategy and follow through. If
you’ve ever looked around the Network and some of the
dream lifestyles our leaders are living and thought ‘why
can’t that be me?’ – the answer is it most certainly can!
There’s nothing to stop you and this unique event is set to
give you everything you need to make your dream lifestyle
a reality.
Kleeneze may be able to give you a lifestyle without limits,
but sadly we can’t give you this event without limited
tickets! We’re close to full capacity now, so make sure you
book your tickets and don’t miss out. Full details are
available on the DSA.
Speaking of dream lifestyles, the race for Jamaica and the
Autumn Destination is on! Very shortly, we’ll be taking our
qualifying Distributors on a trip like no other, aboard the
Adventure of the Seas. Will you be joining us for the next
one? The criteria is out there, so if you haven’t started yet,
speak to your Upline to find out what you need to do.
These Destinations are amazing experiences and the
opportunity for you to attend is there for you to take.
Everything is in its place now, so moving forward we can
build the business we all want. As ever, it’s up to you.
Much love,
Lisa x
What do you value the most?
A recent conversation on our Facebook page showed that the majority of you value work/life
balance over salary and you probably won’t be surprised to hear that this sentiment is echoed by
over half of UK employees.
While job satisfaction ranked the highest in importance in ensuring happiness in a recent survey of
UK workers, just over a third ranked pay above all else. A further 31% said their colleagues were
the best thing about their work, while 28% rated working hours top of their list.
The question is: why should you have to compromise? Why shouldn’t you have it all – a career
that offers flexibility, income AND happiness?

We joined to change our lifestyle
“While on holiday, we got talking to a couple who told
us about Kleeneze [Norman and Joanne Grundy]. We
weren’t really that interested at the time, but we had a
lot in common so added them on Facebook and kept in
touch. When we got home, Joanne posted something
we’d left behind on to us, but also included a pack of
information about Kleeneze.
I work nights and I would love to come off them, so we
had a chat about it and asked Joanne to come round to
tell us more about it. Then we decided to give it a go
and took up the instalment offer.
Both my husband and I work nights as general
assistants in Tescos, so we don’t get to see each other
very much. I also make celebratory cakes and I’m a
spokesperson for the building we live in - we have a lot
going on! At the moment, I spend about 10 hours a
week on my Kleeneze business, but my best cheque has
been £1,200 and I’ve already completed my
30 Day Challenge.
We have a two-year-old and a three-year-old. They’re
both in nursery 2-and-a-half days a week. I have to be
very organised, but it’s working out really well. The plan
is for me to get off nights and then hopefully my
husband will be able to get off nights too. My eldest will
go to school soon, so that will free me up to concentrate
on it more.”

I was unhappy with my job
“I started my first ever job at the age of 17. I joined the
army at 19 and served my country proudly. I have been
a security guard, prison officer, machine operator,
warehouse operative, telesales advisor and an
insurance broker and I have never been happy or earned
what I felt I was worth.
I was sick to death of doing 50/60 hour weeks to scrape
a living, but in May last year I found Kleeneze. Within
my first four weeks, I earned £274 working 10 hours a
week from home around my two children – Ellie, 4, and
George, 2.
Steph was working full-time in insurance, but she was
unhappy in her job. The hours were long and her boss
wasn’t very understanding about taking time off for our
children. She didn’t want me to join originally, because
she was sceptical about whether it would work.
However, we needed the extra money, so started
helping me retail around her job.
By October 2013, five months after we joined, we were
earning over £1,500 and knew it worked. Steph left her
job to help me full time in the business.
We had the goal of going Gold, which we achieved in
November. We have also qualified for the Adventure of
the Seas. Now we want to be Bronze Executives with
50 active wide by end of the year with an income
of £5,000!
We have moved up so quickly in the business and are
overwhelmed by the support that we receive on a day
to day basis.”

We love the time freedom
that we have
“We joined Kleeneze five years ago after seeing an
advert for it at Doncaster Races. We needed to earn an
extra £400 to pay the mortgage, as we had recently
started our own home-based travel agency, which cost
£25,000 plus £600 monthly fees and we were
struggling to compete with the bigger companies and
not making any money. We really wanted to be our own
boss after I had been sacked from my job as a credit
controller due to suffering from migraines. My partner,
Pete, is a carer for his mentally handicapped sister.
In our first month we earned £367 just from putting out
200 catalogues a week, so we could see the retail was
working. So, in month 2 we increased the amount of
catalogues we put out by an extra 100 and earned
£560. We have continuously blanket dropped or
knocked and presented the catalogues ever since and
have grown our customer base to the point
where on average we get around £3,000 -
£3,500 personal retail ourselves.
We now earn more in a month than I did in
my full-time job and love the time freedom
that we have. We closed the travel agency
after just a few months of joining Kleeneze,
as we could see that our future lies with this
fantastic business.”

Maid in Jamaica
You may have heard qualifiers for other Destinations tell you how they were treated like
royalty during their trip. Well, Kleeneze royalty just got a lot more extravagant as for
Destination 2015 you will be staying at the same resort that the Queen stays at when
visiting Jamaica; the same place Prince Harry requested when he visited and the same
place the Jamaican Prime Minister brings visiting dignitaries to dine.
09
Destination 2015
Montego Bay
Half Moon Resort
Named after the crescent-shaped two-mile private
beach, Half Moon, this is considered one of the world’s
great resort hotels. And if the 400 acres of landscaped
natural beauty, equestrian centre, private dolphin
lagoon, multiple beaches, water sports and 18-hole
championship golf course wasn’t enough, you’ll also be
staying in luxury villas with your own butler and maid.
“This Destination is
custom-made for
Kleeneze. You are going
to be treated like royalty
in this incredible resort.
It’s always difficult to
describe these incredible
locations, but you will
have to take my word for
it that this is going to be
a luxury trip unlike any
other that you have ever experienced.
Destination 2015 – Montego Bay, Jamaica – is yours for
the taking. The criteria is there to inspire you to go on
and build your business up to a stronger position than
ever before and in turn qualify and join us at the Half
Moon Resort.
Make sure your plan is in place, speak to your Upline
about your activity and have total focus with the end
goal of Jamaica in mind. They say the pictures in your
mind are a preview of life’s coming attractions, so think,
feel and see Montego Bay!
If you have any questions or need any guidance
regarding any part of the criteria, please email me at
Michael.khatkar@kleeneze.co.uk.”
Trophy winners 2013
For some, it’s a goal they were never aiming for, but winning a trophy has come about
through consistently building their business. On the way, they’ve qualified for Destinations,
increased their income and strengthened their businesses.
We caught up with the winners of the Distributor Challenge Trophy and the Harry Crook
Trophy to find out how they built their businesses and whether the trophies were an end
goal or simply recognition of how far they’ve come.

Ian and Sally Williams
Distributor Challenge Trophy: awarded
for outstanding business development
How did it feel to win the trophy this year?
Winning the Distributor Challenge Trophy was extremely
exciting, but it was also a bit surreal. Sally and I have
been to many Kleeneze conferences and we have
always wondered what it must be like to be invited on
stage and presented with an award - well, now we
know! Of course it was a great thrill, but it was strange
to think it was actually us. That’s really the crucial point
– our individual contribution to winning the trophy was
miniscule compared with the efforts of the team -
overall, it was a team accolade!
Did you plan to win the cup?
Actually we didn’t plan to win the cup at all! It was only
around October last year that members of the Focus
Group kept telling Sally and me that we were in pole
position to win the trophy. And we still didn’t look at the
tables after that! It may sound strange, but we simply
don’t concern ourselves with what other Distributors are
doing - it’s a possible distraction that we can do
without. Our philosophy is this: mind your own
business! In other words, our business goals are to
focus and work hard every day on what is achievable
for ourselves and our team members’.
Nothing else matters.
IAN AND SALLY WILLIAMS
(Bronze Executive Distributors)
Distributor Challenge Trophy
Last year you moved 2 steps up the Sales Plan –
what exactly did you do to make this happen?
Our view of sponsoring is akin to the old Wild West gold
prospector - you spend a lot of time sifting through
rocks and pebbles in order to find gold nuggets; and
Sally and I found those gold nuggets in Karen and Peter
Hall and Keri and Mark Watters. We hit Bronze

Executive because good people worked hard, put into
practise the coaching and committed themselves to
self-development. Sally and I take no credit for the
efforts of others; all we can do is thank them deeply.
New Business Sales were instrumental in helping
you achieve your trophy – can you tell us more about
this part of your business?
Let us be clear: new business sales is the lifeblood of
our operation and that of Kleeneze’s as a whole -
without it, there is no growth; only stagnation. If there is
one area in our business that Sally and I concentrate on
more than any other, it is recruitment. However,
recruitment is simply not about signing people into
Kleeneze; it’s also about mentoring, building
relationships and showing new people how to make the
money they need: retention is the key! But successful
sponsoring is not an easy thing to do: it’s hard work and
sometimes it can be extremely frustrating (but then, we
are dealing with people!). Sally and I simply believe that
a sponsor has a duty to give every person he or she
takes on their best support and advice - no short
measures. People aren’t lumps of mud; you don’t
just throw them against a wall and hope some of
them stick!
What goals do you have for this year?
Personally, if it isn’t broken don’t try to fix it! We will
keep on doing exactly what we did last year - the results
will then take care of themselves. As for our team? We
hope it will be a BIG year! We really do have some great
people in the group and together we will continue to
work hard, teach the right things, promote good habits
and pass on the correct methods. The past twelve
months have been wonderful for us - now it’s time for
someone else to have the limelight.
Obviously, you automatically qualify for the Autumn
Destination. Are you excited about going on it?
Of course! And even though we don’t know the
destination, it doesn’t matter: Kleeneze treat their
Distributors like royalty wherever they go! And I should
also mention that we have qualified for the Adventure of
the Seas - why would I want to mention this? Because
it will be the first Kleeneze trip with a member of our
team sharing it with us: Karen and Peter Hall. That
makes this trip truly exciting! Like I said: it’s time for
someone else to have the limelight!
Interview
Trophy winners 2013
Marlene and Robert Somerville
Harry Crook Trophy: awarded for
outstanding business development
You’re relatively new to the business, having joined
in July 2012. Why did you start with Kleeneze?
Marlene was middle management and I was sales
management. I had a very good, well paid job, until the
government got involved and there wasn’t a job
available. I’ve been self-employed for a number of years
so my pension is null and void really.
Forward thinking, I thought this job is coming to an end,
I’m 60 next very soon, I’ve got nothing behind me and I
honestly didn’t want to take another full-time job. So I
started looking for part-time work. I saw an advert on
the Internet, phoned up and it was Neil Young.
12
Interview
Trophy winners 2013
I hadn’t heard of Kleeneze before. At the time, we were
about to pay out £12,000 for a franchise, but they didn’t
guarantee us any more success than Kleeneze at £180. I
thought, ok we’ll try this and if it doesn’t work, we’ll just
put it down to £200-worth of experience.
What were your goals when you started?
All I wanted to know was about income when I initially
spoke to Neil and he was very honest with me. He
asked me what I was looking for and I said £3,000 to
£4,000 a month. I knew it wasn’t doable immediately,
but I wanted to know if it was doable. Neil said yes –
within 2 – 5 years.
You got off to a flying start. How did you do it?
We followed the system that we’ve been taught. Our
first cheque was £214 in a fortnight. I knew then that it
worked, so we put some backbone into it. We put out
an awful lot of catalogues for a couple of months to
build that side of the business up and hit 15% and then
18%. Then we started sponsoring. Six months later we
were Gold, so it took us 8 months in total.
So was winning this trophy a goal?
I don’t believe in setting sights that far forward. I try to
do everything in bite-sized chunks and everything else
follows. Our goal was to be in the top five of our group.
We thought if we’re in the top five of that, our business
must be going forward. Then we hit the top of the
group. The next thing was to focus on Dubai. Once we’d
qualified for that, we looked at the Harry Crook trophy.
Winning a trophy suits me, because it signifies that my
business is going in the right direction and that I’m
earning the right money.
Dubai was the first Destination you qualified for. Did
it make you more determined to qualify for others?
Dubai exceeded all my expectations. I was stunned at
the treatment we received. I’m 59, I’ve walked the walk
and talked the talk and I’ve never known anything like it.
It’s the little things. You can have the grand dinners, stay
in the posh hotels, go up the world’s tallest building. But
to think our Distributors have to sit in the airport for a
few hours now, so we’ll give them €30 each to get
lunch – it’s these little things that make it incredible.
What a company to be associated with.
We hear you use Skype as a training tool
If you want to be successful and be successful fast, do
what I did in the early days and be all over your Upline
like a rash! I used to phone Neil three or four times a
day on Skype and he was always there for us.
We have webinars, meetings and conferences and
these events are the glue that holds it all together. You’ll
always have ups and downs, but it’s this that helps you
come to your senses.
What are your future goals?
We’ve got 15 in our team and now the Downline is
starting to develop, so it’s a good position to be in. Our
next goals is to achieve a £4,000 a month cheque by
my birthday in May. It’s an incredibly tough target, but if
we reach £3,000 or £3,500 by then, it’s still not a failure
and something we wouldn’t have reached if we hadn’t
have set the target.
Kleen up the
Kleeneze way
It’s spring and with the days getting longer and the sun making a few more
appearances than in previous months, you may be feeling the urge to get your house
spic and span. If not, perhaps the knowledge that the average spring clean burns
more calories than running a marathon (3,655 calories to be precise!) will get you
more motivated to pick up that duster.
If you still think cleaning’s a drudgery and are currently looking around your home in
despair at where to start, stop! Kleeneze products have the answer. It’s time to be
your best customer and get that home in ship shape.

Spring cleaning
Bag up your winter woollies
It’s that time of year again where the sun is rising
earlier, the weather is warming up (finally!) and you can
start packing away your thick woolly jumpers and
cardigans to make room for your spring, summer
wardrobe!
We have the perfect storage solution to keep your
winter clothes safely packed and free from dust and
moths. Our large and jumbo vacuum bags are amazing
value and very easy to use. Simply place your clothing
into the bags, zip them up and suck out the air using a
vacuum cleaner, shrinking them down to a fraction of
their size. Remove all the items from your wardrobe and
wipe away any dust that has collected over those cold
months ready for you freshly packed winter clothes to
be stored.
A clever way to keep your clothing smelling freshly
fragranced is to place a lavender scented liner in your
drawers or for clothes hung up your wardrobe, we have
cute scented hanging hooks and sachets that last all
year round.

Giving your upholstery a lift
Over a year your sofa can gather a lot of miscellaneous
items down the sides! During your spring clean, it’s an
ideal time to get those cushion covers off for a wash,
hang them on the washing line and remove the toffee
wrappers, pens, lost pound coins and hoover up the
crumbs!
We can help give them an extra lift. After time, your sofa
will lose support which can easily be restored with our 2
or 3 seater sofa savers! This simple sofa support is easy
to fit and effortlessly slides under the sofa cushions to
provide a firm reinforcement that will last. The non-slip
fabric cover will hold the sofa support in place ensuring
your entire sofa is rejuvenated at the fraction of the price
of a replacement sofa.

Our Story
Martyn and
Sarah Harvey
Our Kleeneze income is paying
for our children’s education
It’s not just new cars and holidays abroad that British households have been cutting back
on. For some, paying for their children’s education has also seen a hit. Every year, since
2008 when the current economic downturn took hold, British pupil numbers in private
schools fell.
18
One couple, Martyn and Sarah Harvey, are bucking the
trend, though, and are using their Kleeneze earnings in
order to see their children go to the independent private
school, Rookwood in Hampshire.
Martyn, a senior electrical engineer, and Sarah, a former
legal secretary and now stay-at-home mum joined
Kleeneze in 2012. The couple now earn around £400 a
month working their business part-time and plunge
every penny into their children’s school fund.
“I’ve been in the electrical engineering industry for 31
years now, but have always been a bit frustrated
working for someone else,” Martyn told us. “I wanted to
do something different, but I could never put my finger
on what that was and didn’t know how to break out of
the cycle.”
When Joshua, the couple’s first child, came along,
Sarah decided to leave her job and become a stay-at-home
mum. Then Amelia, their second child arrived, and
Martyn and Sarah started thinking about schools and
how they were going to afford them.
“We didn’t want them to get lost in the crowd in a big
state-run school,” explained Martyn. “I’m dyslexic and I
was worried that if my children were too they would
suffer with it in larger school. Once Amelia was born,
we started looking at my wages. I earn just over 45k a
year and we’ve got no mortgage, but still after living
expenses, there’s not a lot left at the end of the month.
Martyn and Sarah Harvey
19
We looked into the option of Sarah going back to work,
but after travelling expenses and childcare, it wasn’t
worth it.”
Help came in the guise of Sarah’s sister, Marie
Simmonds, an already established Kleeneze Distributor.
Initially, for Joshua (now 5), they needed £650 a month.
However, on top of fees come uniforms, trips, books and
extra curricular activities, not mentioning having to save
up for Amelia (3 in August)
“We realised quickly we needed something to bring in
the extra money,” remembers Martyn. “We knew about
Kleeneze, through Sarah’s sister, but it hadn’t considered
it before. But when Marie came around and started
doing a presentation, after 5 minutes I walked off. She
looked at me as if to say ‘how rude’! The thing was,
though, I didn’t have to listen to it, because they’re living
proof that the business works. They’re not in debt and
they’re living a great life! So we got started that
evening.”
At the beginning, it was really Sarah’s business, while
Martyn helped with sorting the books out. However,
after attending a conference, he realised the enormity of
what he had found.
“I was sat in the crowd and it was at that moment I
knew that I’d found what I was looking for. I realised
what I could do for my family. Before we’d looked at
schools, but it was at that point that I knew we could
send him to Rookwood, the private school. At no other
time have I been so excited about my life.
We’ve had a few setbacks and there’s been a massive
learning curve, but we’re in it for the long haul now. We
can see the big picture. You see all these people
struggling for money and you think, if only you could see
what I can see.
It’s brought me and Sarah closer together. We’ve got
this fantastic goal of changing our children’s lives. If we
change their lives, it’s going to have a knock-on effect
on their children and their children’s children and I
wasn’t able to do that with that. It’s given us our
dreams back.”
Are you using the very
best sponsoring method there is?
It’s the most successful way to build your team and your profits. It is, of
course, warm market sponsoring. It’s the concept that Network Marketing
was built on. It’s free and simple and something you can do from day one.
So why aren’t people doing it?
Despite your warm market being made up of the people who you love and care
about the most in the world, those are the people that a lot of distributors are
the most nervous about reaching out to.
However, now is the time that you should be talking to your warm market. Let’s
face it, conventional jobs just aren’t working for too many people in this day
and age. More and more people are struggling to make ends meet than ever
before and the people that said no to you last year, may have had their
circumstances change completely. Absolutely everyone in this business is the
warm market of someone, but perhaps their warm market didn’t contact them!
20
“If you discovered a diamond mine,
who would be the first people you
told about it? Friends and family
or strangers?
Networking is the most natural
thing you can do and your warm
market is the most important group
of people you can approach. The
people that you know, trust you, where
others might not. It also works the other
way around – with people you know, you know
their work ethic and their track record, you know if
they’re right for your team.
When I started off, I made a list of absolutely everyone I
knew without prejudging what they might say. Then I
spent two hours a day simply ringing
everyone. I routed around for phone
numbers for people I went to school
with, everyone. Some joined right
away, others took years before they
joined. Even Craig took 2 years to
join and then it was just for a bit of
beer money!
Even if they do say no, leave the door
open and ask if you can get back to them in
six months time to let them know how you’re
getting on. I guarantee you, it will drive you to work
harder than ever for those six months and prove it’s
going to work!”
Jackie White, Distributor of the Year
Warm list memory jogger
However you make the approach to your warm market – be it phone, face-to-face, email or
Facebook - just make the approach! If you don’t approach your warm market, someone will.
Don’t think about it too much and don’t get emotionally attached the outcome.
You might think to yourself: ‘why isn’t this working? I’m just trying to
help this person earn some more money and make their life
better.’ STOP – move on.
Let go of your emotions and expectations and then
approach your warm market. After all, if you
suggested an amazing restaurant they should go to
and they said they didn’t fancy the type of food there
just now, would you be offended? Of course not!
Maybe they will later.
However, how much would it smart if you see your warm
market with someone else in the Network? And they’ll be
annoyed too, because most will want to sign up with someone
they know and trust.
Make your warm list today and pick up that phone!
You’ve nothing to lose, but everything to gain.

  • 2. Welcome to Team Talk March 2014 Editor’s note There are several things that mark the start of spring for me. The plethora of pancake pictures that appear on my Facebook newsfeed, for example. The fact that I don’t wake up completely perplexed when my alarm sounds thinking surely it’s too dark to be anywhere near classified as morning. The cats strolling in at 6am for their breakfast after a night on the tiles, as opposed to refusing to move from underneath the radiator where they’ve been camped out since October. The garden starting to look far more colourful than it has in water-logged Xenia Xenia Poole, Editor in Chief Xenia.Poole@kleeneze.co.uk 02 months. However, the ultimate way I know that spring is here is when that first stranger smiles at me in the street or bobs their head to say hello for no other reason than it’s a little bit sunny. You may find this statement a bit odd, if you’re from a smaller community where this is the norm, but it’s true! And it makes you feel amazing. So much so, that you, in turn, carry it on and smile at the next person and give them a courteous head bob too. That smile from a total stranger can change your entire day. It’s a wonderfully contagious thing this happiness malarkey. It’s also hugely powerful. Just think, if smiling at a stranger while passing can change their day, how does your mood affect your customers, potential customers, team members or prospects? It’s the simplest thing to do, but sadly the easiest thing not to do. We live in a fast-paced world where your mind can be quickly distracted by things you need to do or things you think you should have done, so it may not be top of your priority list – smiling at the people you pass. But, who would you want to associate with – the person who gives you a genuine smile or the one who looks like they’re in a world of their own? Still not convinced? Ok, let’s look at it from a purely selfish perspective. You’ve heard the expression ‘grin and bear it’? Well, recent studies have shown that a grin can help alleviate stress and help your physical health. It also automatically makes you look younger, which is never a bad thing! Who would have thought Bobby McFerrin was such a lyrical genius! So make the decision to be happy and smile, even if you don’t feel like it. That one smile could change your mood, your health, your day and someone else’s day. What have you got to lose?

  • 5. 05 Lisa Burke Network Managing Director News from Lisa At this time of year, so many people are looking to turn over a new leaf. Whether it’s moving house, redecorating, thinking of a summer holiday or leaving a stagnant job, now is the perfect time to get the opportunity out there. Bronze Senior Executive, Andy Cooper recently asked on our Facebook page how people joined. Out of the 80 responses received, warm market came in top with 21; newspaper advertising was next at 16; flyers brought in 10; shop adverts 6; Internet advertising 5; prospect cards 5; car ads 4; mail shot 3; Facebook 2; and Yellow Pages 1. It goes to show that people join the business through all sorts of methods, but before you use any other method of sponsoring, you need to exhaust your contact list. Contact everyone you know and ask them. Don’t make that decision for them! Think of how you’ll feel if you bump into them at a Kleeneze Showcase and they’ve joined someone else’s team! We’re now building up a testimonial library on the DSA, which will be full of success stories that you can share out with your prospects. We’ll be working on categorising them too, so you can find the story that will help you in targeting your recruitment. Don’t forget, the international best-selling Go Pro by Eric Worre is in every Starter Kit 1 now. It’s a simple 7-step guide on how to master network marketing and is an invaluable learning tool. You can order extra copies on code 736376. Once you get that skill-set sussed, it’s on to the exciting business of creating your lifestyles without limits! We have a fantastic event lined up for Saturday 17 May at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton. Our speakers are ready to offer you advice on how to take control of your life with key elements of planning, strategy and follow through. If you’ve ever looked around the Network and some of the dream lifestyles our leaders are living and thought ‘why can’t that be me?’ – the answer is it most certainly can! There’s nothing to stop you and this unique event is set to give you everything you need to make your dream lifestyle a reality. Kleeneze may be able to give you a lifestyle without limits, but sadly we can’t give you this event without limited tickets! We’re close to full capacity now, so make sure you book your tickets and don’t miss out. Full details are available on the DSA. Speaking of dream lifestyles, the race for Jamaica and the Autumn Destination is on! Very shortly, we’ll be taking our qualifying Distributors on a trip like no other, aboard the Adventure of the Seas. Will you be joining us for the next one? The criteria is out there, so if you haven’t started yet, speak to your Upline to find out what you need to do. These Destinations are amazing experiences and the opportunity for you to attend is there for you to take. Everything is in its place now, so moving forward we can build the business we all want. As ever, it’s up to you. Much love, Lisa x
  • 6. What do you value the most? A recent conversation on our Facebook page showed that the majority of you value work/life balance over salary and you probably won’t be surprised to hear that this sentiment is echoed by over half of UK employees. While job satisfaction ranked the highest in importance in ensuring happiness in a recent survey of UK workers, just over a third ranked pay above all else. A further 31% said their colleagues were the best thing about their work, while 28% rated working hours top of their list. The question is: why should you have to compromise? Why shouldn’t you have it all – a career that offers flexibility, income AND happiness? 06 Feature Work life balance We joined to change our lifestyle “While on holiday, we got talking to a couple who told us about Kleeneze [Norman and Joanne Grundy]. We weren’t really that interested at the time, but we had a lot in common so added them on Facebook and kept in touch. When we got home, Joanne posted something we’d left behind on to us, but also included a pack of information about Kleeneze. I work nights and I would love to come off them, so we had a chat about it and asked Joanne to come round to tell us more about it. Then we decided to give it a go and took up the instalment offer. Both my husband and I work nights as general assistants in Tescos, so we don’t get to see each other very much. I also make celebratory cakes and I’m a spokesperson for the building we live in - we have a lot going on! At the moment, I spend about 10 hours a week on my Kleeneze business, but my best cheque has been £1,200 and I’ve already completed my 30 Day Challenge. We have a two-year-old and a three-year-old. They’re both in nursery 2-and-a-half days a week. I have to be very organised, but it’s working out really well. The plan is for me to get off nights and then hopefully my husband will be able to get off nights too. My eldest will go to school soon, so that will free me up to concentrate on it more.” Beverley and Mark Johnson, Silver Distributors
  • 7. 07 I was unhappy with my job “I started my first ever job at the age of 17. I joined the army at 19 and served my country proudly. I have been a security guard, prison officer, machine operator, warehouse operative, telesales advisor and an insurance broker and I have never been happy or earned what I felt I was worth. I was sick to death of doing 50/60 hour weeks to scrape a living, but in May last year I found Kleeneze. Within my first four weeks, I earned £274 working 10 hours a week from home around my two children – Ellie, 4, and George, 2. Steph was working full-time in insurance, but she was unhappy in her job. The hours were long and her boss wasn’t very understanding about taking time off for our children. She didn’t want me to join originally, because she was sceptical about whether it would work. However, we needed the extra money, so started helping me retail around her job. By October 2013, five months after we joined, we were earning over £1,500 and knew it worked. Steph left her job to help me full time in the business. We had the goal of going Gold, which we achieved in November. We have also qualified for the Adventure of the Seas. Now we want to be Bronze Executives with 50 active wide by end of the year with an income of £5,000! We have moved up so quickly in the business and are overwhelmed by the support that we receive on a day to day basis.” Chris and Steph Nichols, Gold Distributors
  • 8. 08 Feature Work life balance We love the time freedom that we have “We joined Kleeneze five years ago after seeing an advert for it at Doncaster Races. We needed to earn an extra £400 to pay the mortgage, as we had recently started our own home-based travel agency, which cost £25,000 plus £600 monthly fees and we were struggling to compete with the bigger companies and not making any money. We really wanted to be our own boss after I had been sacked from my job as a credit controller due to suffering from migraines. My partner, Pete, is a carer for his mentally handicapped sister. In our first month we earned £367 just from putting out 200 catalogues a week, so we could see the retail was working. So, in month 2 we increased the amount of catalogues we put out by an extra 100 and earned £560. We have continuously blanket dropped or knocked and presented the catalogues ever since and have grown our customer base to the point where on average we get around £3,000 - £3,500 personal retail ourselves. We now earn more in a month than I did in my full-time job and love the time freedom that we have. We closed the travel agency after just a few months of joining Kleeneze, as we could see that our future lies with this fantastic business.” Angela Fitzgerald and Peter Slinger, Gold Distributors
  • 9. Maid in Jamaica You may have heard qualifiers for other Destinations tell you how they were treated like royalty during their trip. Well, Kleeneze royalty just got a lot more extravagant as for Destination 2015 you will be staying at the same resort that the Queen stays at when visiting Jamaica; the same place Prince Harry requested when he visited and the same place the Jamaican Prime Minister brings visiting dignitaries to dine. 09 Destination 2015 Montego Bay Half Moon Resort Named after the crescent-shaped two-mile private beach, Half Moon, this is considered one of the world’s great resort hotels. And if the 400 acres of landscaped natural beauty, equestrian centre, private dolphin lagoon, multiple beaches, water sports and 18-hole championship golf course wasn’t enough, you’ll also be staying in luxury villas with your own butler and maid. “This Destination is custom-made for Kleeneze. You are going to be treated like royalty in this incredible resort. It’s always difficult to describe these incredible locations, but you will have to take my word for it that this is going to be a luxury trip unlike any other that you have ever experienced. Destination 2015 – Montego Bay, Jamaica – is yours for the taking. The criteria is there to inspire you to go on and build your business up to a stronger position than ever before and in turn qualify and join us at the Half Moon Resort. Make sure your plan is in place, speak to your Upline about your activity and have total focus with the end goal of Jamaica in mind. They say the pictures in your mind are a preview of life’s coming attractions, so think, feel and see Montego Bay! If you have any questions or need any guidance regarding any part of the criteria, please email me at Michael.khatkar@kleeneze.co.uk.”
  • 10. Trophy winners 2013 For some, it’s a goal they were never aiming for, but winning a trophy has come about through consistently building their business. On the way, they’ve qualified for Destinations, increased their income and strengthened their businesses. We caught up with the winners of the Distributor Challenge Trophy and the Harry Crook Trophy to find out how they built their businesses and whether the trophies were an end goal or simply recognition of how far they’ve come. 10 Ian and Sally Williams Distributor Challenge Trophy: awarded for outstanding business development How did it feel to win the trophy this year? Winning the Distributor Challenge Trophy was extremely exciting, but it was also a bit surreal. Sally and I have been to many Kleeneze conferences and we have always wondered what it must be like to be invited on stage and presented with an award - well, now we know! Of course it was a great thrill, but it was strange to think it was actually us. That’s really the crucial point – our individual contribution to winning the trophy was miniscule compared with the efforts of the team - overall, it was a team accolade! Did you plan to win the cup? Actually we didn’t plan to win the cup at all! It was only around October last year that members of the Focus Group kept telling Sally and me that we were in pole position to win the trophy. And we still didn’t look at the tables after that! It may sound strange, but we simply don’t concern ourselves with what other Distributors are doing - it’s a possible distraction that we can do without. Our philosophy is this: mind your own business! In other words, our business goals are to focus and work hard every day on what is achievable for ourselves and our team members’. Nothing else matters. IAN AND SALLY WILLIAMS (Bronze Executive Distributors) Distributor Challenge Trophy Last year you moved 2 steps up the Sales Plan – what exactly did you do to make this happen? Our view of sponsoring is akin to the old Wild West gold prospector - you spend a lot of time sifting through rocks and pebbles in order to find gold nuggets; and Sally and I found those gold nuggets in Karen and Peter Hall and Keri and Mark Watters. We hit Bronze
  • 11. MARLENE AND ROBERT SOMERVILLE (Senior Distributors) Harry Crook Trophy 11 Executive because good people worked hard, put into practise the coaching and committed themselves to self-development. Sally and I take no credit for the efforts of others; all we can do is thank them deeply. New Business Sales were instrumental in helping you achieve your trophy – can you tell us more about this part of your business? Let us be clear: new business sales is the lifeblood of our operation and that of Kleeneze’s as a whole - without it, there is no growth; only stagnation. If there is one area in our business that Sally and I concentrate on more than any other, it is recruitment. However, recruitment is simply not about signing people into Kleeneze; it’s also about mentoring, building relationships and showing new people how to make the money they need: retention is the key! But successful sponsoring is not an easy thing to do: it’s hard work and sometimes it can be extremely frustrating (but then, we are dealing with people!). Sally and I simply believe that a sponsor has a duty to give every person he or she takes on their best support and advice - no short measures. People aren’t lumps of mud; you don’t just throw them against a wall and hope some of them stick! What goals do you have for this year? Personally, if it isn’t broken don’t try to fix it! We will keep on doing exactly what we did last year - the results will then take care of themselves. As for our team? We hope it will be a BIG year! We really do have some great people in the group and together we will continue to work hard, teach the right things, promote good habits and pass on the correct methods. The past twelve months have been wonderful for us - now it’s time for someone else to have the limelight. Obviously, you automatically qualify for the Autumn Destination. Are you excited about going on it? Of course! And even though we don’t know the destination, it doesn’t matter: Kleeneze treat their Distributors like royalty wherever they go! And I should also mention that we have qualified for the Adventure of the Seas - why would I want to mention this? Because it will be the first Kleeneze trip with a member of our team sharing it with us: Karen and Peter Hall. That makes this trip truly exciting! Like I said: it’s time for someone else to have the limelight! Interview Trophy winners 2013 Marlene and Robert Somerville Harry Crook Trophy: awarded for outstanding business development You’re relatively new to the business, having joined in July 2012. Why did you start with Kleeneze? Marlene was middle management and I was sales management. I had a very good, well paid job, until the government got involved and there wasn’t a job available. I’ve been self-employed for a number of years so my pension is null and void really. Forward thinking, I thought this job is coming to an end, I’m 60 next very soon, I’ve got nothing behind me and I honestly didn’t want to take another full-time job. So I started looking for part-time work. I saw an advert on the Internet, phoned up and it was Neil Young.
  • 12. 12 Interview Trophy winners 2013 I hadn’t heard of Kleeneze before. At the time, we were about to pay out £12,000 for a franchise, but they didn’t guarantee us any more success than Kleeneze at £180. I thought, ok we’ll try this and if it doesn’t work, we’ll just put it down to £200-worth of experience. What were your goals when you started? All I wanted to know was about income when I initially spoke to Neil and he was very honest with me. He asked me what I was looking for and I said £3,000 to £4,000 a month. I knew it wasn’t doable immediately, but I wanted to know if it was doable. Neil said yes – within 2 – 5 years. You got off to a flying start. How did you do it? We followed the system that we’ve been taught. Our first cheque was £214 in a fortnight. I knew then that it worked, so we put some backbone into it. We put out an awful lot of catalogues for a couple of months to build that side of the business up and hit 15% and then 18%. Then we started sponsoring. Six months later we were Gold, so it took us 8 months in total. So was winning this trophy a goal? I don’t believe in setting sights that far forward. I try to do everything in bite-sized chunks and everything else follows. Our goal was to be in the top five of our group. We thought if we’re in the top five of that, our business must be going forward. Then we hit the top of the group. The next thing was to focus on Dubai. Once we’d qualified for that, we looked at the Harry Crook trophy. Winning a trophy suits me, because it signifies that my business is going in the right direction and that I’m earning the right money. Dubai was the first Destination you qualified for. Did it make you more determined to qualify for others? Dubai exceeded all my expectations. I was stunned at the treatment we received. I’m 59, I’ve walked the walk and talked the talk and I’ve never known anything like it. It’s the little things. You can have the grand dinners, stay in the posh hotels, go up the world’s tallest building. But to think our Distributors have to sit in the airport for a few hours now, so we’ll give them €30 each to get lunch – it’s these little things that make it incredible. What a company to be associated with. We hear you use Skype as a training tool If you want to be successful and be successful fast, do what I did in the early days and be all over your Upline like a rash! I used to phone Neil three or four times a day on Skype and he was always there for us. We have webinars, meetings and conferences and these events are the glue that holds it all together. You’ll always have ups and downs, but it’s this that helps you come to your senses. What are your future goals? We’ve got 15 in our team and now the Downline is starting to develop, so it’s a good position to be in. Our next goals is to achieve a £4,000 a month cheque by my birthday in May. It’s an incredibly tough target, but if we reach £3,000 or £3,500 by then, it’s still not a failure and something we wouldn’t have reached if we hadn’t have set the target.

  • 18. Our Story Martyn and Sarah Harvey Our Kleeneze income is paying for our children’s education It’s not just new cars and holidays abroad that British households have been cutting back on. For some, paying for their children’s education has also seen a hit. Every year, since 2008 when the current economic downturn took hold, British pupil numbers in private schools fell. 18 One couple, Martyn and Sarah Harvey, are bucking the trend, though, and are using their Kleeneze earnings in order to see their children go to the independent private school, Rookwood in Hampshire. Martyn, a senior electrical engineer, and Sarah, a former legal secretary and now stay-at-home mum joined Kleeneze in 2012. The couple now earn around £400 a month working their business part-time and plunge every penny into their children’s school fund. “I’ve been in the electrical engineering industry for 31 years now, but have always been a bit frustrated working for someone else,” Martyn told us. “I wanted to do something different, but I could never put my finger on what that was and didn’t know how to break out of the cycle.” When Joshua, the couple’s first child, came along, Sarah decided to leave her job and become a stay-at-home mum. Then Amelia, their second child arrived, and Martyn and Sarah started thinking about schools and how they were going to afford them. “We didn’t want them to get lost in the crowd in a big state-run school,” explained Martyn. “I’m dyslexic and I was worried that if my children were too they would suffer with it in larger school. Once Amelia was born, we started looking at my wages. I earn just over 45k a year and we’ve got no mortgage, but still after living expenses, there’s not a lot left at the end of the month. Martyn and Sarah Harvey
  • 19. 19 We looked into the option of Sarah going back to work, but after travelling expenses and childcare, it wasn’t worth it.” Help came in the guise of Sarah’s sister, Marie Simmonds, an already established Kleeneze Distributor. Initially, for Joshua (now 5), they needed £650 a month. However, on top of fees come uniforms, trips, books and extra curricular activities, not mentioning having to save up for Amelia (3 in August) “We realised quickly we needed something to bring in the extra money,” remembers Martyn. “We knew about Kleeneze, through Sarah’s sister, but it hadn’t considered it before. But when Marie came around and started doing a presentation, after 5 minutes I walked off. She looked at me as if to say ‘how rude’! The thing was, though, I didn’t have to listen to it, because they’re living proof that the business works. They’re not in debt and they’re living a great life! So we got started that evening.” At the beginning, it was really Sarah’s business, while Martyn helped with sorting the books out. However, after attending a conference, he realised the enormity of what he had found. “I was sat in the crowd and it was at that moment I knew that I’d found what I was looking for. I realised what I could do for my family. Before we’d looked at schools, but it was at that point that I knew we could send him to Rookwood, the private school. At no other time have I been so excited about my life. We’ve had a few setbacks and there’s been a massive learning curve, but we’re in it for the long haul now. We can see the big picture. You see all these people struggling for money and you think, if only you could see what I can see. It’s brought me and Sarah closer together. We’ve got this fantastic goal of changing our children’s lives. If we change their lives, it’s going to have a knock-on effect on their children and their children’s children and I wasn’t able to do that with that. It’s given us our dreams back.”
  • 20. Are you using the very best sponsoring method there is? It’s the most successful way to build your team and your profits. It is, of course, warm market sponsoring. It’s the concept that Network Marketing was built on. It’s free and simple and something you can do from day one. So why aren’t people doing it? Despite your warm market being made up of the people who you love and care about the most in the world, those are the people that a lot of distributors are the most nervous about reaching out to. However, now is the time that you should be talking to your warm market. Let’s face it, conventional jobs just aren’t working for too many people in this day and age. More and more people are struggling to make ends meet than ever before and the people that said no to you last year, may have had their circumstances change completely. Absolutely everyone in this business is the warm market of someone, but perhaps their warm market didn’t contact them! 20 “If you discovered a diamond mine, who would be the first people you told about it? Friends and family or strangers? Networking is the most natural thing you can do and your warm market is the most important group of people you can approach. The people that you know, trust you, where others might not. It also works the other way around – with people you know, you know their work ethic and their track record, you know if they’re right for your team. When I started off, I made a list of absolutely everyone I knew without prejudging what they might say. Then I spent two hours a day simply ringing everyone. I routed around for phone numbers for people I went to school with, everyone. Some joined right away, others took years before they joined. Even Craig took 2 years to join and then it was just for a bit of beer money! Even if they do say no, leave the door open and ask if you can get back to them in six months time to let them know how you’re getting on. I guarantee you, it will drive you to work harder than ever for those six months and prove it’s going to work!” Jackie White, Distributor of the Year
  • 21. Warm list memory jogger However you make the approach to your warm market – be it phone, face-to-face, email or Facebook - just make the approach! If you don’t approach your warm market, someone will. Don’t think about it too much and don’t get emotionally attached the outcome. You might think to yourself: ‘why isn’t this working? I’m just trying to help this person earn some more money and make their life better.’ STOP – move on. Let go of your emotions and expectations and then approach your warm market. After all, if you suggested an amazing restaurant they should go to and they said they didn’t fancy the type of food there just now, would you be offended? Of course not! Maybe they will later. However, how much would it smart if you see your warm market with someone else in the Network? And they’ll be annoyed too, because most will want to sign up with someone they know and trust. Make your warm list today and pick up that phone!
