is named Lake
Champlain. Lake
Champlain covers
about 440 square
miles. Another very
important river is
Otter Creek . They say
that Otter Creek is
Vermont’s longest
river.

Many of Vermont’s
natural resources come
from it’s forests such as
trees which are used to
make
paper, furniture, and
lumber. Also maple
syrup is a very popular
natural resource. Maple
syrup comes from the
sugar maple trees that
grow there.

In Vermont ,there are many
vegetables and fruit. One of
the leading fruit and
vegetable crops are sweet
corn, potatoes , and apples .
Dairy cows are again very
important because they
produce milk, cheese, and
ice cream.

There are many
important people in
Vermont such as
Rudy Vallee and
Cartlon Fisk. Rudy
Vallee was a famous
singer and Carlton
Fisk was one of the
greatest catcher in
baseball history.
