2. Introduction
 Susanne Lieu serves as the managing director of Ruben
Companies, a real estate counseling firm of New York,
New York. Outside of her work, Susanne Lieu is an avid
fan of the New York Knicks and the New York Giants, as
well as a supporter of the American Foundation for the
University of the West Indies.
The American Foundation for the University of the West
Indies (AFUWI) is a non-profit organization created to
provide financial support and foster relationships
between American corporations and institutions and the
University of the West Indies. The organization itself has
been in place for over fifty years, with distinguished
donors such as Eleanor Roosevelt and Colin Powell
taking part in its mission over the years.

3. American Foundation for the University of
the West Indies
 Along with funding grants, scholarships, and special
projects, AFUWI also hosts a multitude of fundraising
events each year to garner support for the
organization, as well as award banquets for the
recipients of its scholarships. One of its annual
fundraising events is known as Radiothon, which is a
three-day on-air fundraising campaign for the
organization. A multitude of radio stations in New
York take part in the benefit, usually with a pledge of
their own, and then encourage listeners to call in and
donate to AFUWI, or to donate online. The coming
