A precise measure is one that specifies a value to a suitable level of precision, as with a specific number of digits after the decimal point. An accurate measure is one that correctly measures the property being measured. Measures can be precise and accurate, precise but inaccurate, imprecise but accurate, or both imprecise and inaccurate. For process management purposes, measures should be as precise and accurate as possible.
