1. Beowulf was one of the first long poems in English.
2. It was written anonymously.
3. It consists of 3200 lines of two parts in the style of an epic.

Caedmon (কোেমে) (657-680)
Caedmon সিম িযরকে কজব। কোেমরেে িন্ম ৬৩৭ সারে এবং মৃযুে ৭৩৫ সারে। জযজে জছরেে
একিে বমষপােক এবং Whitby (হুইেবী) োমক এক স্থারে বসবাস কেরযে। জযজে বেখা-পড়াও
িােরযে ো। যারক ইংরেজি সাজিরযেে আজে কজব (Earliest poet/first known poet in

Saint Venerable Bede (673-735):
1) He is called “The Father of English Learning” and he is also known
as “First historian in English Language.”
2) He has written ‘The Ecclesiastical History of the English’ (ইংরেিরেে িমথীয়
ইজযিাস) আে এই কােরর্ জযজে। “Doctor of the church” উপাজি বপরয়রছে।
