Introducing the affordances of online meetings for groupwork and tips for good practice. Included a live demo to set up a Google Hangout using a Sheffield Hallam student Gmail account and the Google Apps associated with that account.

• Pre-agree the agenda and have this to hand

• Pay attention to the process of the meeting
– make a note of who takes part
– agree a minute taker
• Keep an eye on the time allocated for the
meeting - avoid distractions
