This document discusses collecting data on public transportation to evaluate customer satisfaction and system performance. It recommends gathering both qualitative and quantitative data from different parts of town, social classes, and transportation modes to reduce uncertainty. The data should be attached to familiar objects or timeframes so it is easily understood. Consumer privacy and budget must also be considered when collecting and using data. The results could help governments determine which public transportation to introduce, remove, or modify based on performance.

Public Transportation
This can be defined as a means of transportation which is usually provided locally which
ensures that majority of the population travel together through a specific route. This form of
transportation is usually done buy trains, buses and trams to mention a few.
There are different types that can be collected. I will focus majorly on qualitative and
quantitative types of data. These two will show the quality of the public transport being
offered. Furthermore it will show the number of people that are or are not satisfied with the
type of transport system that is available.
In order to reduce/ ensure there is no uncertainty in the data I collect. I will collect the data
from different parts of the town, from different social classes and different modes of
transport as well. In addition I will ensure the time allocated on the data collection is
approximately close if not the same amount of time.
Data is usually collected in bulk and therefore the target audience may not make sense of it.
I will therefore, attach the data I collect to objects or things that the people are familiar to.
These things can be size, familiar distance or a relatable time.
To begin with, consumer privacy is to be practiced when collecting data, consumers have
grown mistrust towards where their data is taken to and how they are used. In addition, I
will consider the cost of any additional data point as this may affect the budget in the end.
The government should allocate time and money to this project as it will determine
customer satisfaction in the transport sector (public). It will also enable determine which
types of public transport they can introduce or remove the ones which are
underperforming.
