Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is expanding into Long Island by constructing a 114,000 square foot cancer treatment facility in Nassau County that will be the most comprehensive program in the region. The Memorial Sloan Kettering Nassau Center has received support from Nassau County officials and is being built adjacent to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, with plans to open in late 2019. 3. Earlier this year, the Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Center rolled out its
plan to construct an expansive cancer treatment facility some 114,000 square feet
in size located in Nassau County. The move comes as MSK looks to expand its
reach into the Long Island area. According to center officials, the MSK Nassau
Center will be the “most comprehensive” program in the region. MSK President and
CEO Craig B. Thompson, MD, said that his organization has received a great deal
of support for the project from Nassau County officials, as well as the towns of
Uniondale and Hempstead. Building crews are already constructing the new center,
which will be adjacent to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. MSK Nassau is
slated to open its doors in late 2019.
