3. Basic Requirements to Open a School in
India:-
• You need to set up a society or trust as the primary step ` to get through the registration process.
• Another aspect is to work out the fund requirements for setting up a school. It can vary depends on the
infrastructure facilities that you are opting for. Also, can be based on the board of education. Specific
requirements for each board will have to be followed.
• Follow the norms and regulations for getting the NOC in starting a school in India.
• Every region or state has different rules and regulations with related to department of education. So, make sure
you follow the correct regulations for the particular state where the school is going to set up.
• When you receive the sanction, you can start the process like construction of the school, staff recruitment etc.
• An Essentiality Certificate is required to be obtained from the Department of Education. This document is what is
later used to help acquire land to build the new school at a reduced price from government
4. How to Open a School which runs on CBSE
Guidelines:-
• Register a Trust/Society/Section 8 company
• Purchase/Lease the adequate land as required by CBSE Get the Land use changed (CLU)
to educational/instutional (if required)
• Construct the School as per CBSE norms
• Start the school- recruit teachers & admit students
• Apply for recognition from the state government
• Apply to the state government for NOC to apply to CBSE
• Apply to CBSE for affiliation by 30th June of the session in which the school starts grade
8th.
• The school, subject to fulfilling all CBSE norms should be granted permission to start
grade 9th
• When the school starts Grade 10th- Apply to CBSE again for upgradation of the school till

8. Registering your School in IGCSE:-
• Registration quality standards: Before you apply for registration as a Cambridge school, you need to ensure that you
comply with their basic expectations. The website provides a list of requirements that can be broadly listed as:Mission and

• Physical environment and legal requirements
• Expressing your interest: Once you are prepared with the requirements, you need to fill in an online form. You need to
provide your contact details, the program that of your interest and the details of your eligibility and qualifications. The
council gets back to you regarding this application.
• Complete the application: The second stage involves filling the detail application form and submitting it to the local
Cambridge center. This is then followed by the approval visit.
• Approval visit: The Cambridge representative visits the school and observes if the school meets all the expected standards.
You then receive an approval visit form that states whether your school is approved, rejected or approved with conditions.
• Contract signing: Once approved, you are required to sign the contract with IGCSE and complete the registration process.
Now as a registered school, you receive a smooth transition into the Cambridge working style. You receive access to
resources, curriculum, events and training and marketing support. Thus you can get started.
9. Registering your School under ICSE council:-
• Understand the terms and conditions stated by the council to initiate
the preparation for the affiliation request. This involves the basic
preparation like the set up of the society or trust and the land,
infrastructure and other mandatory requirements.
• Submit the application form with the relevant details.
• Once approved, you need to obtain the No Objection certification
from the State departments.
• Submit the documents as specified on the website.
• This is followed with the verification from the council. If the
verification process is fine, you will receive the affiliation.
10. How to Start an International School in India
• International schools in India are seen to adopt the system where students can select a curriculum of their choice at the level of Grade IX.
• Investment: You need to thoroughly research your business plan, market scenario and then estimate the expenditures of a complete school
