1. Crime and Deviance Case Study Investigation
Research at least four of the following crime theorists, detailing their case study work and relevance to the
unit ‘Crime and Deviance’. Ideally, you should select choices that cover a range of eras.
You will come across all of them in our learning of Crime and Deviance, but as part of your Independent
Learning Project, you must have substantial knowledge and understanding of your chosen ones.
This, of course, will benefit you in a wider understanding of Sociological theory, and crime and deviance;
but also allow you to make reference to your chosen theorists in your exam responses.
Please be aware that there is considerable overlap between theorists and theories, you must
additionally acknowledge and cite other people who have connections with your chosen theorists.
SUBSTANTIAL EVIDENCE IS REQUIRED – DO NOT CLAIM YOU CANNOT
FIND MUCH INFORMATION ABOUT THESE THEORISTS BECAUSE THERE IS LOADS!!!!!!!
