negative, technicians need to make film base, and then use the base to take photos or
reprint. The film base should be as accurate as the PCB board requires. Technicians should

could be provided by customers or manufacturers, but the two of them should work and

Making Methods of Film Base
There are several types of making methods of the film base. They are hand printing, picture

film negative made by laser plotter are much better than those made by hand. According to

drum laser plotter. It adapts to Gerber-RS274 standard data format, which is also the
standard data format of PCB design and manufacture industry. Gerber format's name quoted
from the pioneer of photo plotter design and manufacture - US Gerber Company. The
production of photo plotter is to transform design data from CAD soft to photo plot data. After
CAM's modification and edition, it finishes photo plot pretreatment (including makeup and
mirror image), which makes the data reaching requirements of PCB board manufacturing
technique. Then technicians send the finished data into photo plotter. Raster of photo plotter
will transform those data into raster data, which will be sent to laser plotter by high power fast
compressing retrieving algorithm. The whole process is finished.

photo plotter, extended the data of vector quantity photo plotter, held HPGL, AutoCAD DXF,
