8. Stopwatch Technical Overview
• There are 3 versions of StopWatch depending upon need and Infosec restrictions:
• Local Version – Installed and runs on a single workstation
• Intranet Version – Installed on shared folder (internal/external – such as
Dropbox)
• Enterprise Version – Web portal for multiple programs, locations and users.
• No software installation or registry updated made to the workstation (except drop-
in for local version).
• Stopwatch generates a local log file of desktop activity – it is NOT a keylogger
• Periodically, at an approximate hourly interval one of three things happens
• Enterprise version: Log text file is sent via http post to a portal for graphic
analysis.
• Intranet Version: Log text file is sent to shared folder
• Local Version: Log text file is processed for update of graphical display on local
machine
• There is no customer specific or otherwise sensitive information transmitted
• No detectable CPU load or workstation latency -- invisible to users, runs entirely in
background
