parents were Francisco Javier Mariategui Requejo And Maria
Amalia La Chira Vallejos. His sisters were Amanda Mariategui
La Chira, who died when she was young, and Guillermina
Mariategui La Chira. His brother was Julio Cesar Mariategui La
Chira
He didn’t complete his primary (nobody knows about that). He
never studied secondary, because he moved to Lima when he
was thirteen years old with his mom, his sisters and his
brothers, after his father died.
In 1909, he started working for the newspaper “LA PRENSA”. In
1911,he wrote his first article with the pseudonym of Juan Croniqueur.
In 1912, he wrote articles about political notes and the lottery. In 1913,
he wrote articles about literary and artistic themes. In 1914, he worked
with the magazine “Mundo Limeño”.
