Immigration Improvements
For many years America has faced many problems. One of them being the problem with
immigration. The reason I say that immigration is a problem is because, there are too many
illegal immigrants coming to America. We need to find a way to improve it. I did find an article
that talks about how we can improve it. In an article called “What Additional Steps Can We Take
to Improve Our Immigration System,” written by Jeffrey Zients, it talks about some of the things
that Obama is trying to do to improve immigration in America. In one part he talks about how
Obama is trying to fix it by “including commonsense steps that will help secure the border, bring
undocumented immigrants out of the shadows, and make it easier for high-skilled immigrants
and entrepreneurs to contribute to our economy,” (Zients). Which seems like this could work.
But I am going to give my honest opinion on how we could improve immigration. I think we
should be very strict when it comes to people coming to America. I was thinking we could
actually in force certain rules when immigrants come to America. As in when they come we
need to find out why. Then when we know the reason we will get them to actually go into the
educational system, so that they can actually get a job. But we will need to watch ever move they
make. As in they will have someone to secretly watch over them. This person will monitor them
to make sure they are going to school and is not committing any criminal act. But sadly if they
stop going to school or fail out of it, or even do a horribly crime, they will be immediately be
deported back to their country. Also if the person who is trying to get into the country, has a
2. criminal record, they will not be allowed to enter, no matter what the circumstances. What I have
said may sound mean or even controlling, but if we want to make improvements will have to
make some harsh decisions.
