What Is Voice Over IP or VoIP
Voice Over IP, is simply a way to make phone
calls using the Internet rather than paying your local phone company for a “Land
Line.”
You can use Voice Over IP either using your computer, or you can pay extra for a
Voice Over IP modem which is a device that connects directly to the Internet and
allows you to use a regular phone instead of having to use your computer.
Typically, you do pay a monthly charge to a Voice Over IP service provider for
this.
Voice Over IP For Free? Where Do You Get That?
As an entrepreneur and a home-based business owner, I’m always looking for
great ways to save money, without sacrificing quality.
I have had several Voice Over IP service providers through out the years and I
really appreciate the savings over a regular Land Line, as those tend to be quite
pricy.
Even though, I save money, there was still an overhead.
I hate overhead, don’t you? That means less profit!!
So a friend, told me about Google Voice; which is a free service available to US
residents in which you can make phone calls for free using the Internet.

2. It is different from Skype, as with Skype you can communicate with other Skype
members for free but you do need to pay extra to be able to call a cell phone or
Land Line.
So I got Google Voice and I found it to be great, but, I had to be in front of a PC in
order to use it.
I also decided to cancel my Voice Over IP service, as I no longer needed the extra
expense since I had my cell phone and Google Voice.
How I Was Able To Use Google Voice With My Voice Over IP
Phone
Even though, I could use Google Voice for free on my PC, I missed being able to
use a speaker phone. Having to wear headphones and always having to be
logged in to Google, was inexpensive but also inconvenient.
So I started looking for an inexpensive solution and I’m glad to say I found one.
It’s a device called an OBI 100. It is a VoIP modem, that uses Google Voice as
my VoIP provider. How cool is that?
So I bought the device and configured it with my Google Voice account. You can
click on the image and it will direct you to where you can purchase your very own
OBI 100. (yes, it is an affiliate link, and I do get a small commission if you buy it

So now I get to enjoy, hands free talking on my regular phone without having to
have my PC on. Best of both worlds.
What I love most about this setup is that now I can talk Hands-free, using my
regular phone to anyone in the world.
I can talk for FREE in the US and Canada and for a really low per-minute fee, I can
talk to people all around the world.

That is important, as I have affiliates and team members allover the world that I
stay in contact with giving them support and training. And for my US affiliates,
they can call me on the phone without having to pay International Cell phone rates
as I live in Canada.
