What is
Zlux has invented an innovative and energy efficient way
to utilize a once costly form of lighting. Unlike traditional
EL manufacturers, we’ve developed a process to print EL
lamps directly to the portion of graphic you want lit. With
our patent pending spot illumination technology you save
money, conserve energy and command attention to your
message in any environment.
Electroluminescence (EL) is an optical and electrical phenomenon in which a material emits light in
response to the passage of an electric current. Zlux electroluminescent devices are actually lamps.
They emit light, but they are unlike any traditional lamp. Instead of creating light by heating a
filament (as in an incandescent light bulb) or by charging a
gas field (as in a fluorescent or neon tube), Zlux EL relies on unique
phosphorescent materials, which glow like a traditional lamp,
when exposed to an electrical current. Unlike traditional
lamps, Zlux EL lamps are produced by using a several
layer process using phosphorus and silver. The first EL
products were made of thick, inflexible and fragile
materials but no longer. Zlux lighting is thin,
flexible, and can be applied to an infinite amount
of items. In comparison with other lighting, Zlux EL
is one of the most efficient forms of lighting on the
market, it burns very little energy and glows cool to
the touch.

over to our creative team. Here is the fun part. Our creative team works with your graphics to create a virtual proof, so you can see
the effect our lighting will have with your graphic. This is where we get the animation just the way you want it, whether it be
flashing OFF and ON, staying lit, or sequenced. Once you approve your animation, we send your graphics off to produce a sample
(recommended before running a large order).
PRODUCTION
Once artwork is approved, it’s time for production! Zlux EL lamps are manufactured through a multilayer printing process
incorporating both phosphor and silver. Our standard substrates are plexiglass and foam core, but for custom applications we
recommend our thin flexible vinyl. With two choices of finish, you can give your Lumagraphic a professional matte or a shiny
eye-catching gloss lamination.
DELIVERY
Once your sample has been produced we do a quick test and it’s on its way to the destination of your choice. A sample of your
product will generally have a quick turn-around. Larger orders may have a longer turn-around depending on the scale of your

CHOOSE YOUR ILLUMINATION AND ANIMATION
Our lamps are manufactured through a multi-layer printing process, and controlled with a
small inverter. Spot illumination and animation are what make our product unique and
make your product stand out.
• Spot illumination is an innovative and energy efficient way to utilize a once
costly form of lighting. Unlike traditional EL manufacturers, we've developed a
process to print EL lamps directly to the portion of graphic you want lit. Just
choose the areas you want lit. (With this design, the client wants 3 different
portions of the perfume bottle to light.)
• Animation: Standard Lumagraphics come with an
ON/OFF/FLASH option, but to take your display to the
next level we recommend upgrading with animation.
We offer up to 10 "channels" worth of animation.
This means that 10 different areas can light at
different times, even if you have two different areas
lighting at once, that counts as one channel.
