Method:

  • Soak the rice for 20
    minutes.
  • Boil water in a pot and add
    half of the bay leaves.
  • Add the soaked rice to the
    boiling water and simmer.
  • When rice starts to float on
    top, drain out the water.
  • Mix sugar with the rice.
  • Heat ghee in a handi and
    add the remaining bay
    leaves.
  • Add chopped raisins,
    almonds, cashew nuts, star
    anise and green
    cardamoms.
  • Mix milk and saffron and
    sprinkle it on the rice.
  • Cover it with a lid.
  • Cook for 8-10 minutes on low heat and serve hot.
