The Last Cheat Sheet of
2024 (We Hope!)
Good morning, TCS Subscribers. As
we wind down 2024, we picked up a
few interesting tidbits here and there,
so we figured we’d get them to you.
Consider it an early Christmas
present from us to you. Of course, it’s
a Christmas present you paid for, but
hey, at least it’s a gift you know you’ll
like and won’t have to return. Enjoy!
A Little More on Morales
A number of you have been asking
when something was going to drop on
Secretary of State Diego Morales.
We did some checking, and we've
heard that the investigation's focus was
leaning towards the no-bid contracts
and campaign contributions. We
wrote what our sources told us Morales
would allegedly give out no-bid
contracts in exchange for
contributions. You may have already
seen the Capital Chronicle news story
regarding this. If not, here it is. A
long-time observer of Indiana politics
called this the “first chink in the
armor.”

“Constable” Ken Allen
Look for a lawsuit to be filed soon in an
attempt to remove Center Township
Constable Ken Allen from office. The
suit, we're told, surrounds allegations
that Allen did not live in Center
Township for the required year before
running and does not live in the
apartment building at 16th and
Meridian. Look for something to be
filed early next year. This is in
addition to possible criminal charges
that Allen may face.
More Grief for Greg Taylor
Last week, Senate Democrats replaced
State Senator Greg Taylor with Shelli
Yoder as Minority Leader. This came
after a story about a second group of
women came forward with allegations
of inappropriate behavior. We’re told
there was very little support in the
caucus to keep Taylor as leader. And
we’re also hearing that the lawmakers
who voted for Taylor felt extremely
betrayed after the second story broke.
There is no word yet on whether
Taylor will resign from his seat.

Lawrence’s Legal Issues
Life isn't getting any better financially
in the City of Lawrence. We're told
not to be shocked when and or if the
state takes over Lawrence via the
Distressed Unit Appeals Board. Yup,
Lawrence's finances are so bad that
quiet discussions are taking place
about a financial takeover. The state
just gave up control of the Gary
School District last summer. What
will be interesting to watch out for is if
the state does take over Lawrence,
what happens to the Council? In the
Gary situation, residents couldn't vote
for school board members for the
seven years the city was under state
control.
Some State Chair Stuff
We're hearing two names as possible
replacements for former Indiana
State Republican Chair Randy Head:
Hamilton County Chairman Mario
Massillamany and Barnes and
Thornburgh former Partner Bob
Grand; both can raise money. On the
Democratic side, Destiny Wells has
announced she's running for Indiana
Democratic Party Chair. The
challenge for Wells is to beat the
"ABD" crowd (Anyone But Destiny).

Indy Mayor Front Runner
In the race to replace Joe Hogsett as
the next Mayor of Indianapolis, there is
a "front runner", so to speak. It's not
City-County Council President Vop
Osili or State Senator Andrea Hunley.
The front runner is a white person to
be named later. Why? If Osili and
Hunley are on the May primary ballot,
they could split the black vote, making
it easier for the non-minority candidate
to become the Democrat nominee.
The Untalented Mr. Whitley
The fun with indicted former
Congressional candidate “Dishonest”
Gabe Whitley continues. Not only is
he facing state and possibly federal
criminal charges, his latest adventure
involves him filing a complaint against
yours truly with the Illinois Attorney
Disciplinary Commission. He’s
accused us of the same stuff he did here
in Indiana. What’s the definition of
insanity? Exactly.
