allows billions of people to discover, watch
and share originally-created videos. YouTube
provides a forum for people to connect,
inform, and inspire others across the globe
and acts as a distribution platform for original
content creators and advertisers large and
small.

Most of the content on YouTube has been uploaded
by individuals, although media corporations including
CBS, the BBC, Vevo, Hulu, and other organizations offer
some of their material via the site, as part of the
YouTube partnership program. Unregistered users can
watch videos, while registered users can upload an
unlimited number of videos. Videos considered to
contain potentially offensive content are available only
to registered users at least 18 years old. YouTube, LLC
was bought by Google for US$1.65 billion in November
2006 and now operates as a Google subsidiary.

Works on a download base, so for people with Dial-Up connections and Broadband
limits it can become rather expensive.
• Only works on Flash so it is incompatible with some platforms i.e Mac (especially the
older ones which are obsolete and do not have driver updates for flash anymore)
